About d Bible referring 2 only Melancholic being wicked, I disagree wit u. I have seen a Sanguine who also has an unforgiving character. All humans have this problem(unforgiveness). I'm a bit choleric and melancholic. because of this attitude, I don't always care about what pple say abt me. But these four temperaments are not fully correct. I have my reasons

I have read some things about temperaments before, but your description here kinda seems to be more precise.
I think I'm about 72% sanguine + 20% phlegmatic + 6% melancholic + 2% choleric.

In conclusion, I think I'm just a San-phleg.

But then, I think one should only have a combination of being extrovert and introvert eg San-pleg, San-mel, Chol-phleg, Chol-mel and viceversa instead of Mel-phleg (two introverts) or Phleg-mel (two intoverts) or Chol-san (two extroverts). These are combinations of two introvert/extrovert features and should not combine for the total description of a person. My thoughts...

Sorry for the generaslization.
Humans genarally have a problem with forgiveness. But I bet melancholies have a harder time forgiving that sanguines or phlegs.

Sanguines have passion and drive.
Not necessarily commitment and definitely not dedication. Check other areas of your life in the past.

vislabraye: I've heard loads of these temperament stuffs.
@poster. When you said "the heart of a man is desperately wicked" was refering to melancholy, I don't agree O. Every temperament is capable of being wicked.

I've been thinking what temperament makes the best lady's man? I think all of them.
Yes. All temperaments can become a Lady's man. Depending on the Man and lady in question. If you get my point.

So I'll continue..

Sometimes we find ourselves in positions that's not exactly suitable or meant for us.
A Sanguine will definitely have to lead sometime.
A Choleric will need to learn how to smile at the most irritable client.
A Melancholy might just have a marketing job that pays well.
And a Phleg could be in a spontaneous position of authority and action.
What happens then??
Will they lose good paying jobs just because they are not particularly and naturally good at such tasks?
NO!!
Re: How Your Temperament Affects Your Career Choice And General Performance. by DukeNija(m): 1:59pm On Sep 12, 2012
I want to introduce to you all the concept of 'Borrowed Temperament'.

This is entirely new, and will not be found in any book, or any website for that matter. So don't bother Mr Google.

When in a position entirely new to you and your personality there's more to performance than just the willingness to Succeed. You need to reconfigure your persona to that specification in order to perform excellently, or at least, keep the job.
This means taking the temperament you need for the job, and adding it to the already existing ones.
This is a process that involves your active mind.
Once you have identified the temperament you'll need to get the job done, you immediately engage your mind in a role-play that involves being in the realm of the new temperament at its best or extreme.
This will be interpreted and converted by way of your actions, and will stick over time through constant practice involving the active mind.
The active mind or conscious mind will then(after much practice) transfer or hand you over to your sub-conscious mind.
This is at the last stage.
Once your sub-conscious mind is in charge of your behaviour over time, it becomes part of you.
To understand this process, you need to take time out to think and meditate on what I've written above, because some terms might sound new to people.

But first, you need to identify the temperament you need to perform well on that job.
Then, you practice that temperament at its extreme because since its not natural to you, an extreme excercise will be needed to bring you to par.

You'll need to relax your present or dominant temperament a little.
You'll need this while on that job, if you need it. Relaxing your dominant temperament comes with hard work and mind action.

This means replacing your reactions to things with the borrowed temperament. Replacing your actions with that of the new temperament.
This might take some time. But once it is done, you'll get the reward.

@Spicy -v, i've always admired your posts.
I agree with most of the things said in this thread. I want u to describe me grin
I don't talk much in the office, my colleagues always believe i like to listen more thn contribute and my boss thinks i can do more than i'm doing at the moment. I love tasking assignments and i often don't mind staying back in the office to finish the day's work. My friends "yabb" me that im a workaholic but i find that hard to believe. What do you think my temperament is?

What do you think my temperament is?

Awww gurl, thanks smiley. Now, you really didn't give me a lot θf information to werk with but I will try my best to werk with what I have. So, let me highlight the points you gave me, present my analysis and match the results with the temperament combo that best fits.

You don't talk much and your colleagues believe you like to listen more than you contribute.
If this is true, you are a thoughtful person, you like to count your words, carefully articulate them before you speak. Hence, you are slow to respond. You want to make sure that when you speak, you are speaking wise words. You wouldn't want to rush in and make a senseless contribution hence the need to think your words through before speaking aloud. Also, you maybe less confident about how meaningful your contribution would be as you care a lot about what people think and so give yourself a lot θf negative self talk on why your contribution would not be appreciated.

If the above fits you, that is the Melancholy temperament.

Your boss thinks you can do more than you are doing.
This could be either θf two reasons, you are usually unmotivated, often contented with your "little" accomplishment hence your lack θf enthusiasm to do extra or you usually feel some form θf insecurity or self doubt about aiming higher, doing more, reaching for more, achieving more and stretching yourself. You probably are afraid θf failing, or afraid θf being perceived as competitive.

The first reason above is the attribute θf a phlegmatic and the second is a Melancholy.

You like tasking assignments and do not mind staying back to finish the days werk.
This means you love challenges. You are also a finisher as you like to see to the end θf a project. Means you are visionary because visionary people always see the end θf something from the beginning and are focused on working till that end is accomplished. Procrastination is also not your thing.

Now, that is classic Choleric.

Your friends tag you a workaholic but you find it hard to believe.
Well, Cholerics are workaholics. You probably do not believe you are a workaholic because you enjoy the fact that you work a lot, so much that you have gotten so used to it and don't notice. It is in your nature! cheesy gurl the fact that you mentioned you would often stay back to finish an assignment is proof you like to w-e-r-k wink

Given the analysis above, I would say you are a Mel/Chlo. Your dominant temperament is Melancholy and your passive is Choleric. Pheeeew!!! Lol. That's the reverse θf moi.wink
