Kobojunkie:
huh? The last VC Academic Affairs was him?
Yeah, i saw a thread about his appointment some months back.

He was the VC of Academic Affairs but just became the general VC recently. At least that's what the article says.

No, He is still the VC of Academic Affairs. This article even says that. He was the Dean of Engineering before this. And I don't think this appointment is as recent as it is being made here in this article.

Yeah, i saw a thread about his appointment some months back.

He is still the VC Academic Affairs at UI-Champaign. The guy before him was also a black dude. Heck, a good number of the Officials at UI(Chicago, Urbana, Springfield) happen to be black. I think it is an Illinois thing.

What's all this jubilation for now? The man is a professor of Engineering yet Naija can't boast of a bridge or anything engineering in nature to advance the country or the world at large and we are rejoicing at another of our brains being drained by the west.

His achievement is only for him and his family and America at large. How does this impact on Africa or even Nigeria?

Oshisko.

But for what it's worth sha, it shows that Yorubas get brain, kilode? grin

1.) Dude you went to FUTA . . . How many successful people go/went to FUTA? Zilch. You are just another one of the many losers from the FUTA warehouse

2.) You cant even write well? Dude, what else do we need to know you are big time failure?

3.) And you seem to always try to validate yourself via other people's achievements, especially people far remote from you. That doesnt necessarily scream success or does it? You are failure. You will always be, Deal with it FUTA boy!

Damn wrong. Chances of his success in that place is less than 5%.

#seriously, we need to update our definition of being Nigerian.

He is the best man for the job that we have at the moment. Am sure if they give it to him he will do well. Someone in his position will not let PHCN fools escape that easily. undecided. His whole academic experience has been abroad and it has been through hardwork, not connection or shady experience and degrees.

He's the best man for the job. You know that how? You guys just keep making astronomical statements that you can't back up with facts. Take it easy bro.

Though i think he'll do very well if brought in.

Look, if you cannot think and you dont have anything to contribute or say, JA! Dont try to use my post to make your dumb unintelligible brain seem intelligent.

He is the best man for the job. He has both Academic and research experience, and will not be in that position if he lacked integrity or leadership skills. He will be able to revamp and upgrade our electricity problems.

You could have just stuck with the blued letter rather than the red because you can't prove anything. Stop sounding like an illiterate and speak with wisdom.

Look, go and farm. You had nothing to say and still you have nothing to say. You are best to remain a Foo*l. It is not my fault that the nerves in your brain are disconnected that you need me to spell out the obvious for you. You have mental problems. grin. Keep hanging on my posts. You go quench last.

Educate me? You were clueless and you wanted a clue. I gave you, you are still talking out of bloody ignorance. If you had an opinion you would have stated it and moved along. Stop following me around. I state my opinion and move on, i dont stalk people and insult them because i am clueless, but dont want to look like i am empty brained. grin cheesy

It seems Nigerians no dey learn lessons. That this man has succeeded where he is today DOES NOT mean he will succeed in Nigeria. We have tons of examples right now of why he is likely not going to succeed in Nigeria. We have examples such as the Bankoles, the Agangas, the Iwealas etc. We never tire?

What is clear is that in TIGHTLY-CONTROLLED environment, something we clearly don't have in Nigeria, some Nigerians are able to move past their corrupt and deceitful sides to succeed. Some do better if you put them in situations where much of the grunt work has already been done and they are required to maintain the success of what has been established. However, when you pull some of the very same Nigerian success back into raw situations like the one you have in Nigeria, they are pretty much your average Nigerian. What we need to find are those who have been able to take mud and turn it to gold.
