Can Any Muslim Explain This And Allow People To Comment? by nextpart(m): 12:10pm On Sep 25, 2012
Each time the angel Gabriel brings message to Muhammad, he uses the word ''We''. I am sure you know ''we'' is used for more than one person.

Question: What make up the ''we''? Allah plus the angel? If it is Allah plus the angel, it means the angel was equating himself with Allah.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let US make man in OUR image....

Here, God was talking to the Trinity before He proceeded to create man as narrated in verse 27.

Thank you.

eastern languages like Arabic and Hebrew have two types of plurals: plural of numbers and plural of respect.

so, a proclamation beginning with "we" doesn't mean it is made by more than one person.

I think the english royal "we" also falls into this category.

Who was respecting who? The angel respecting himself by saying ''we''?

Even God does not respect Himself and say ''we''.

I beg to disagree. Any more explations acceptable?

the angel merely conveys the words as God has dictated. the angel has no input.

God uses the plural as a sign of authority

Its only respect incorporated into language bro.
F00028 have explained it all.
There is Plural of Numbers, as well as Respect in the Arabic Grammar.
Allah uses the Plural of Respect to dignify or exalt himself mainly to emphasise His superiority above all.

This same grammatical rule have been used in several Arabian literatures, even to refer to co-humans.

It is also a taboo in the Yoruba custom to refer to elderly person in a singular Pronoun. Instead of 'IWO', 'EYIN' is to be used for an elder in replacement.
We can also learn that from Kings as evident in Yoruba movies that they refer to themselves with the pronoun 'WE' which translates 'AWA' mainly for reasons of Pride.
In Islam, Pride is an incontestable right of Allah.
