EARLY LIFE AND MUSIC CAREER Ice Prince was born Panshak Henri Zamani in the city of Minna , Niger State, Nigeria. At age two, he moved with his family to the mining city of Jos , Plateau State , Nigeria. While residing in Jos, he attended St. Murumba College, the same school that produced P-Square , footballer John Obi Mikel, and the Governor of Bauchi State Isa Yuguda, among others. He also attended the Science Tutorial College in Jos. In 1998, he began writing rap songs and started performing them at social events held at his school. It was not until 2001 that he began going to studios to record. In 2002, he got together with a couple of friends and formed a group called the "Ecomog Squad". They had few performances as a group and split a year later. In 2004, he connected with M.I , Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, Taz, and together they became what is now known today as the "Loopy Crew". During an interview with Adeola Adeyemo, Ice Prince was asked to summarise his story. He said "I started out in Jos in a group called ECOMOG squad. We used to rap and sing together. The group split up after a few years and after that, I joined the choir in my church and started singing Tenor. That was about the time MI moved back to Nigeria and we became friends, we became family, we started living together, started making music together. I had a song that made it to Number 1 in Jos, that was when I started getting more attention. Then I got admitted into University of Jos to study Zoology but then I couldn't really continue because of some financial constraint at the time." [8] Ice Prince also opened up about the passing of his parents and the challenges he faced early on. He said: "Life was not that rosy. When my dad was alive, life was pretty much rosy but I lost my Dad in 1999 and it was my Mum that was taking care of me up until she died too. So it was kinda hard to get by, really. I dropped out of school in my 100Level to focus on my music.I moved to Abuja and started living with MI and Jesse Jagz. We were making music, doing some small small shows just to get money. Then we moved to Lagos, we got a chance to chill at Djinee’s house. Djinee gave us some space in his house to sleep. Djinee is like my Jesus. He came through for us. We lived in his house and made it very uncomfortable for him but he took all the pain and accommodated us. This was in 2008. Gradually, there was steady growth. We got our own place, started making music. In 2008, I hosted Sprite Triple Slam. We did 30 shows, 15 in Lagos, 15 in the East. I got some small money off that to buy some new jeans and shoes so that girls would, you know, say hi to me when they see me." “ |

Katty Perry - Part of me [Verse 1] "Part of Me" is a song by American singer Katy Perry, released as the lead single from Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. It was written by Perry and Bonnie McKee, with production and additional writing by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Cirkut. The song was not included on the original edition of Teenage Dream because Perry felt that it did not fit the composition of the album. A demo of the song leaked online in late 2010, amid speculation that the lyrics were directed to the singer's ex-boyfriend Travie McCoy. "Part of Me" was re-worked and officially released on February 13, 2012, through Capitol Records with artwork by art director Gavin Taylor and photography by Mary Ellen Matthews. The production draws inspiration from several genres, including house music, dance-pop, and power pop; reviewers compared it to Jessie J's 2011 single "Domino" and Perry's 2010 singles "Firework" and "California Gurls". Its lyrics describe a female protagonist who declares herself as unbreakable and strong following a break-up. Contemporary music critics praised the song's production and gave it mixed-to-positive reviews, although some criticized Perry's vocals. Many theorized that the lyrics addressed Perry's divorce from Russell Brand, although Perry stated it was not about him since it was written in early 2010. "Part of Me" was a commercial success. It was the twentieth song to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Perry's seventh number-one single on the chart, and her ninth consecutive number-one single on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. The single debuted at No. 1 in Canada and the United Kingdom and has been certified Platinum in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Marketing campaigns for Adidas and The Sims 3: Showtime have featured it. An accompanying music video was filmed at the United States Marine Corps' Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. The video depicts Perry enlisting in the Marines following a heartbreak. It garnered generally positive reviews for Perry's "Girl Power" message but drew criticism from feminist author Naomi Wolf, who denounced it as military propaganda. Perry debuted the first televised performance of song on at the 54th Grammy Awards and has also performed the song at the ECHO Awards, the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards, and American Idol. |

GLORIANA LYRICS "(Kissed You) Good Night" I dropped you off |
Re: SimDam Lyrics and Music Analysis Studio by simdam500(m): 12:24pm On Dec 30, 2014 |
The lyrics to Gloriana‘s brand-new single ‘(Kissed You) Good Night’ were written in honor of all the guys in the world who are the ones responsible for making that “first move” with a girl after a date night out. Gloriana’s Tom Gossin co-wrote the tune along with hit songwriter Josh Kear (Lady Antebellum‘s ‘Need You Now,’ Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Before He Cheats’), and it is the first release from their forthcoming album on Warner Bros. Records. “It was actually the very first writing session that I had had in the time period when we were thinking about starting a new album,” Gossin tells Taste of Country. “We hadn’t even officially began writing for the new album, but I had a chance to get together with Josh. He was one of the writers on ‘Wild at Heart,’ and he’s just written some of my other like completely favorite country songs out there. I just really jumped at the opportunity. I was anxious to meet him and get the chance to write. That was actually our first time writing together. It was just the two of us. I went over to his place. It was one of those days where the song just sort of happened. It’s always really nice when that happens, so you don’t have to labor over the start of the idea.” Gossin shared with Kear a conversation he overheard at a restaurant one day prior to their writing appointment. “I was sitting at this table at a restaurant, and I could hear the table next to me,” Gossin says with a grin. “This one girl had been on a date, and they were like, ‘So … did he kiss you?’ She was like, ‘No, we didn’t.’ They were like, ‘Girl, that is his job to make the first move!’ My ears perk up, and I was listening because I wanted to know what they had to say about it. They were like, ‘It is always the guy’s job. Just push her up against the wall and do it!’ That became like the first [idea] that I had when I wrote with Josh … the whole ‘should have push you up against the wall’ thing … just the girl wanting the dude to take charge kind of a thing.” “You couldn’t see me / Watching through the window / Wondering what went wrong / Praying that you wouldn’t go / You should have kissed me / You should have pushed me up against the wall / You should have kissed me / I was right on the edge and ready to fall,” they wrote in the lyrics of the verse sung by the band’s Rachel Reinert. “We agreed that we wanted to write something that really stirred up emotions in people, something about a moment in life – almost when you live life and you go, ‘Oh man, this is kind of like a movie moment,’” recalls Gossin. “We were totally thinking of something like that. I started looking back in my personal life and my younger years and everything, and I was always somebody who had a hard time with that whole scenario: making the first move and knowing that it was the guy’s job to kind of like make the first move at the end of a great date.” “I turned off the car, ran through the yard, back to your front door / Before I could knock, you turned the lock, met me on the front porch / And I kissed you good night / And now that I’ve kissed you / It’s a good night, good night, baby good night,” they wrote in the lyrics to the chorus. “I was always a shy guy my whole life, so it was harder than it sounded to do that,” says Gossin with a laugh. “So I guess writing this song was a way to kind of work through that!”

"Titanium" (feat. Sia)
|
Re: SimDam Lyrics and Music Analysis Studio by simdam500(m): 2:15pm On Dec 30, 2014 |
"Titanium" is a song by French DJ and music producer David Guetta, featuring vocals by Australian recording artist Sia. Taken from Guetta's fifth studio album, Nothing but the Beat, the song was written by Sia, Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort and Afrojack. Production was also handled by Guetta, Tuinfort and Afrojack. "Titanium" was initially released for digital download on August 8, 2011, as the first of four promotional singles from the album. It was later released as the album's fourth single in December 2011. The song originally featured the vocals of American recording artist Mary J. Blige, whose version of the song leaked online in July 2011. "Titanium" is a ballad which draws from the genres of house, pop and urban-dance. The song's lyrics are about inner strength. Sia's vocals on "Titanium" received comparisons to those by Fergie and the song was also musically compared to Coldplay's work. Critics were positive towards the song and noted it as one of the standout tracks from Nothing but the Beat. "Titanium" attained top 10 positions in several major music markets, including Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at number one, becoming Guetta's fifth number-one single on the chart and Sia's first. The song's accompanying music video premiered on December 21, 2011 but does not feature appearances by Guetta or Sia. Instead, the video focuses on a young boy, played by actor Ryan Lee, with supernatural powers. Along with other songs, "Titanium" was pulled from radio stations in the US after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Music video Background and reception The music video for "Titanium" was directed by David Wilson. It was filmed in December 2011 in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac and at Dorval High School, in the province of Quebec, Canada.[61] A 14-second preview of the video was uploaded to Guetta's official YouTube account on December 16, 2011. The preview showed a young boy (played by actor Ryan Lee) in the smoky woods running away from a SWAT team of men. The video then closes with the caption, "The Music Video Coming Soon". The full video premiered online on December 21, 2011. Neither Guetta nor Sia appear in the video. Jason Lipshutz of Billboard magazine noted that "the supernatural scene and suburban setting" in the video recall the science fiction film Super 8 (2011), in which Lee stars. Becky Bain of Idolator wrote that, "The video is beautifully shot, and is courageous enough not to answer all its mysteries." A writer for Capital FM called it a "very cinematic video". Synopsis The video opens in a deserted, destroyed school hallway with Lee's character shown sitting on the ground. As the first verse begins, he slowly begins to stand up and makes his way through the hallway. The boy then sees a female teacher in a classroom who's stricken with fear and closes the door, realizing that the boy is the cause of the damage. As the boy makes his way outside the school building, a police car arrives and the teacher rushes outside to tell the policeman about the boy, who then quickly rides a bicycle home to pack his things. While at home, he sees a news report about the incident, causing him to quickly gather his things to flee. Several policemen then appear outside the front door of the boy's house, while he tries to escape through the back door. The boy realizes that the door is locked so he uses his telekinetic powers to grab the keys from the kitchen bench. The policemen then enter the house to find that the boy has escaped, but find a teddy bear and a plush frog floating in the air. The final scene shows the boy running away from a SWAT team in the woods. The boy is caught by one of the men who pushes him to the ground. The video ends with the boy using his supernatural powers once again to push the men away in a burst of power; this references how the boy destroyed the school in the first place, as he's in the same position he was in at the beginning of the video. The aftermath of the outburst in the end, however, remains unknown. |
