The Kano State government in collaboration with Niger Republic has concluded arrangements to build a mega secondary school in Niamey, Niger Republic as part of the bi-lateral agreement signed by both parties some months ago.

In a statement by the Director of Press to the governor, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, under the arrangement, Kano State will build hostels, dining hall and other facilities, while the Nigerien government will construct classrooms and administration block.

The statement added that the state government has already contacted the French government for qualified teaching staff and facilities for the school, while money for the project has been set aside by the state government.

It stated that when completed, the school is expected to accommodate at least 1,000 Nigerien and Kano students, who will study French in an effort to improve multi cultural relations.

Earlier, the head of the Nigerien delegation, Alhaji Muhammadou Saidou, said the visit was to finalize arrangements on the proposed school project, which he said will go a long way in consolidating Nigeria-Niger relations.

Could there be a hidden agenda behind all these Kano/Niger integration? Especially now that Niger has abundant oil, couple with the fact the core north's born to rule heritage has been seriously shattered by BH. Perhaps only in true SNC would we know where our giant "weak" country is heading.

Somebody should please tell Kwankwaso the south needs his philanthropisms too!!!

We need to bring to mind that even if we don't have the same president, the Sultan of Sokoto over sees the Nigeria Muslim and the Niger Republic, so don't get jealous with the bond that exist between the muslims.
There is Nigeria International school in Benin Republic, so there is nothing wrong having similar thing in Niger Republic.
So many people commented before thinking.
Its a welcome development.

As long as it is Kano's share of the Allocation that is used, no problem. They can do whatever they will with their money. But then, who else other than myself is thinking that these guys in the north are finally seeing breakup as a possibility and are planning ahead with another ''Oil Country''.

The intention is clear here.
To take the children away from their parents like Abdumutallab and train them like aqaeda, ashaab and the likes. To train more boko haram members that will take over from their present leadership while shielding them away from the Nigerian government.
Who are they deceieving? It is very clear that boko haram has caused the north more than they can imagine- paralyzed economic activities, reduced investement and the likes to their detriment.
Enugu is cool. Lagos is cool. What will I be doing in that desert called states of the core north.

Which is more reasonable?
A. Building a school in Niger and sending kano indigenes over there because they have to learn french, OR
B. Building the school in Kano and having the french teachers over.

Ur answer would determine if you are a forward or
Backward reasoner. Thank you
