I don't think that "otondo" is originally an Igbo word. But was introduced in the 90s by Igbo youths to describe someone who acts like a m0r0n. I'm not so sure of its origin.

If someone call you otondo give the person slap. The meaning of otondo is MUMU person in igbo.

actualy otondo has its origin at Depot NA zaria which is d breeding grounds of recruits into sojas.it was coined by d 63NAs to refer 2 any recruit/coy/platoon who is/r lagging in any of d training endeavours..afta d 63NA left they pass d terminology 2 their succesors who happen 2 b d instructors at nysc camp

Yes, that's a favourite name corp members are called right from camp, to show they are just new from school, novices, fresh graduates who are just coming to the realities of having to take charge of their lives, both in camp and outside, with little or no experience, having to fend for themselves, and so on . . .
Ajuwaya is yet another name.

You know the military guys are fond of 'militiarising' English words -

Ajuwaya means "As you were" but they coined it into "ajuwaya".

It's the same way they say some nonsensical stuff during parade - if you ask them, they'll tell you the actual English word(s) (ie. for those of them who know sha)
