When people say 'Lord protect me from my friends, I can take care of my enemies' I always wonder if they think they can take of the devil (their no 1 enemy) without God's help. And if you God needs to protect you from your friends, well, you might as well be a loner.

You try as much has possible to avoid conflicts with your enemies, you can sense your enemies and could also initiate a defence mechanism, because you are at alert, you are aware of their schemes, though they may be victorious at times, but you probably wont go down without fighting.

But it's hard when you have enemies who you think are friends because you will lower your defence mechanism again them, what that means is that you may likely not survive an attack from them.

So I guess that's what that quote meant
