Crude oil has been gaining since three days, currently @ $46.52.
This is a sign of bull visit.

...it's a welcome news, but long term trend is still bearish. Nigeria, Libya and US shale oil producers need to cut production for price to move up

@BullBearMkt and fxuser I picked this volume/trend analysis from something I'm reading.

Would like to know:

1. if there are additional ways of using price and volume in analysing activity on the stock market.

2. Is the 10 day volume moving appropriate for the NSE. If it isn't then based on your experience what period volume moving average is best.

- Nice one.
- to your Question: All oscillators & indicators derive their data from price & vol. (RSI , macd, Obv, BB blah blah)
- It's important to remember that they are all lagging in nature, so its not predicting ''certainty'' only possibilities based on 'PAST' data hence our aim is to improve on risk mgt for long term success (im a full learner )

Dis:
i like days with above avg vol wt higher closing price over prev day , i prefer higher weekly closures on strong volume wt a gap up d ff week opening.

- to question 2 : i use default settings or compare weekly volumes

Yes o. That's the way to roll these days.

Weekend or holidays. Not a problem for me too. Sometimes when I wake up to see my dashboard, I just smile.

Indicators only tell the trend of the market, it will not tell you when the market will reverse.

Conoil grows Q1 profit to N3.3bn

Indigenous petroleum marketer, Conoil Plc, has reported a gross profit of N3.318bn for the first quarter of 2017, representing 67.66 per cent earnings rise compared to N1.979bn posted in the first quarter of 2016.

The improved financial performance for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017, showed a revenue of N24.474bn, which is an increase of 28 per cent over the N19.042bn recorded in the corresponding period of 2016.

Its profit after tax stood at N174.458m in 2017, compared with a loss of N944m in 2016, a statement by the oil major said.

Thus, it added that it was raising investors’ expectations for another bountiful harvest at the end of the year.

The frontline petroleum marketer, had last Wednesday announced a profit after tax of N2.837bn and proposed a dividend of 310 kobo per share for the 2016 financial year.

Analysts in the capital market had said the positive performance indicated bright prospects ahead for the shareholders of the company. The firm, last Wednesday, reported a revenue of N85bn, up from N82.919bn in 2015. Cost of sale reduced from N71.381bn to N70.8bn in 2016, bringing the gross profit to N14.14bn, compared with N11.53bn in 2015.

The oil firm said it reduced distribution expenses to N2.534bn, from N2.69bn after adopting a cost optimisation strategy. Its finance cost fell significantly from N3.75bn to N1.76bn.

Conoil, thus ended the year with profit before tax of N4.28bn, showing an increase of 24 per cent above the N3.44bn in 2015. Profit after tax rose by 23 per cent to N2.397bn to N2.837bn. Earnings per share also increased by 23 per cent from 333kobo in 2015 to 409kobo in 2016.

It said the improved 2016 performance resulted from its sustained culture of financial discipline, prudent and efficient execution of projects and plans, aggressive product development and marketing, supported by cutting-edge customer service delivery.

Conoil said, “Amid the challenging economic environment, our team proactively identified potential business risks and suggested quick fix solutions to optimally manage and minimise the risks, which helped in achieving efficiency in the way we do our business.”

The Chairman of Conoil Plc, Dr. Mike Adenuga had assured shareholders that in the face of the gloomy economy, the company would always strive to be one of the fastest growing and profitable companies in the country.

He assured that it will consolidate its gains and ensure greater returns on investment for its teeming shareholders.

While promising that the company’s ultimate goal to its customers will always be excellent service and products, he maintained that its promise for its shareholders remains maximum value.

Adenuga stressed, “We will drive our business to greater heights by re-establishing commanding presence in retail business, lubricants, aviation, liquefied petroleum gas, specialised products and non-fuel retail services .”

I don't believe in overbought , oversold, divergence because most times they don't work.

I only believe in buying cheap and selling it when price is high.

I only trade american stocks. I'm just here trying to learn how NSE works.

BAD ADVICE. WILL DEFINITELY BURN YOUR FINGERS

Never going to happen in the next 3 months. Results will be out in less than 4weeks from now. The mine is already ripe for gold production.

Thanks Cadillac15, this my opinion it is based on technical analysis done by myself considering my risk appetite. My money is at stake here and I need to protect myself from too much risk. I am not out yet, I have just indicated where I will exit (price going below 4.50). i am closely watching this stock. We don't need to argue, the market is the final judge. Mind you that, If the stock never goes below 4.50, I will still be holding the stock and if see the stock going above 5.56, I may buy again in the future.

...lol!!!
you trade NYSE or NASDAQ or SPX500 and you don't believe in overbought , oversold, divergence?

If used effectively, indicators will tell you when price is cheap (oversold) and when it's high (overbought) along with price actions and volume.

If you are successful on NASDAQ or any US exchanges, then NSE is bread and butter...

Oh well. Then I'm game. I use 50 and 200 EMA indicators but once in a while I use RSI.
I've been good with them for the past 10months.
I will keep watching how you trade the NSE.

Download the e-mandate forms of the registrars for the stocks you bought, fill the forms and take to your bank to upload on the NIBSS platform (eDMMS).

If you bought any stocks being managed by United Securities, Atlas (former FlourMills) registrars and DataMax registrars, you need to meet your broker, sign a transfer form and let them process for you. These particular set of registrars are still using GLO network. Lol

Thank you.

I dont even know that the man still writes about stock now.
Gone are those days when we were always looking forward to get copies of his weekly stockwatch magazine.Even in my local area here we mus get it at all cost. I stiil get some copies in my library. He did his best and he got so many of us interested in the stock market.
With my little knowledge about stocks now,i will rather do my analysis myself and follow my own investment rules developed over time.
Abayomi is still very active but not so influential like before, people are now wiser compared to those days, despite that, I still visit his site and listen to his program. He has been trying to make up for the lost suffered by his followers in those days. And of course, his experience still matters sometimes.
