You can try a CyanogenMod ROM. But if the phone developed that problem after it was unlocked then most likely u r stuck without 3G o. What I did was to get a Mifi and flex d phone

it has only been repaired of of charging port, though it's get hot before the repair, for the water, it fell into small water , bt rescued it, and dried it for two days, powered it on,it was misbehaving, I factory rested it, though it still get hot most time.

With water damage I often recommend 7 days for it to completely dry. What is happening in your phone is that the on-board processor is heating up and is not getting cooled by the heat sink. This is because water has damaged the thermal interface material that allows for the proper conduction of heat away from the processor.

Normally if this material is cleaned up immediately after the water damage, it comes easily and a new one can be reapplied. But once it's dries it's very difficult to come off making any new reapplication futile

I'm not to sure the Lollipop update is available let OTA in Nigeria. Your best bet will be to download the file some sammobile and flash it with Odin. My fear is that since you have rooted it you might loose considerable data as Odin will remove root. You get liver sha o... Flash Note 4 wey just commot. What if u get issues and wanna use ur warranty?

Confirm that your S3 is i9305 or 4G LTE. Ive got a i9305 that lost 3G functionality when I unlocked it

I don't think the Lollipop update is available OTA yet. You can always download it from sammobile and flash it with Odin. Did this for my S4 and it's almost like I've got a new phone. Loving it

There is no hard and fast rule. What I do to differentiate a clone from an original is to boot the phone into download mode. You do this by putting the phone off preferably using battery pull. Then power it up holding the power, volume down and home keys. This should take you to the download mode. You should see a screen similar to that below. Anything aside that my brother RUN

What OS version are you running? I had a somewhat similar problem with My S4 as I could not share screen with my Samsung smart TV. Upgraded it from Kitkat to Lollipop and the problem disappeared. My first advice will be for you to reinstall the current OS using Odin. If the problem isn't solved then perhaps an upgrade. You may have to do a complete wipe when reinstalling the current OS so BACKUP

I'm sure S5 will have a number of variants as well so know the variants before you hit the streets
