Friends, I m not foolish asking this question and I have learnt the quality/dependability of a car does not depend on the year/model.would you advise I get the 99 camry( that has been widely praised despite its wallowy suspension) or the smaller 2003 corolla? Thanks

the corolla has a smaller, somewhat fragile and less powerful engine than the camry. Note that the engine block of the camry is steel while that of the corolla is cast iron or steel. However, though more compact, the corolla is sharper in looks both exterior and interior than the camry. Again the corolla is more fuel efficient. Personally, i have a preference for the camry over the corolla reason being that it has a more solid build and it's also heavier.

Personally i hate the two car. If am been force to chose would go 4 2001 camry. 1999 is rubish. Ugly interior

but 99 and 01 camry have basically the same interiors!! It's on d outside u have minor changes (bumpers, lights and a bulkier shape for d 01). Also, most mechanics (i don't know y) will tell u dat the 99 camry is better than the 01 camry!

Infact that was the root cause of my dilemma.most mechanic and all people who have used both acknowledge d 99 is better than 2001.both have basically same interior.I love the coroller,just that it is smaller and heard it is not very rugged like the camry

nonetheless the camry has worse in/outlook than the smart corolla.but ultimately what determines a good car especially for starters is not the shape but dependability/faithfulness. That may explain while the car is very much common outside there. Wats tour take? Thanks sha

For me I would happily go the 2003 Corolla way.

The 1999 camry is useless, go for the 2003 Corolla

Go for the corrolla.
Its better in terms of fuel economy, its more rugged, its a bit less boring than the camry.

The 2003 Corolla has better interior,design,fuel economy,re-sale value and low maintenance cost than the ugly looking Camry.
Go for the 2003 or 2004 Corolla and you'll be happy for it.

I think you are in the best position to answer yourself. Why compare 1999 camry to a 2003 corolla? You should be comparing cars of the same year. I drive both 1999 camry and corolla. If you are looking for comfort and less effort driving go for camry but if all you care for is fuel efficiency, then settle for the corolla
