Aregbesola inaugurates N125m power station

Posted by: Our Reporter Posted date: December 31, 2012

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration has completed 77 electrification projects across the state.

The governor made this known in Moro, Ife North Local Government, at the weekend while inaugurating a 7.5 MVA Power Injection Station for Origbomeje Community.

He said 27 electrification projects are ongoing.

Aregbesola said they would be delivered in the next three months.

He said these were in addition to the 35 transformers given to various communities this year.

Arebesola said the past administration completed only 48 electrification projects in the seven and a half years it spent in office.

He said his administration’s performance has “clearly shown the difference” between them.

The governor said the provision of the Injection Station was a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to providing stable electricity supply.

He said the state government went out of its way to provide the transformer, even though it was the responsibility of the Federal Government.

Describing the project as a reward of democracy, Aregbesola said: “In our recent past, whenever the government was mentioned, what came to the people’s minds was some far away institution.

“The reason for their negative view of the government stems from the years of poor governance they were subjected to by the previous administration. For us, government is owned by the people. It is an institution for improving their welfare. We believe the task of government is to improve the lives of the people by delivering social goods that have direct positive impacts on their daily existence.

“Our achievements in different areas so far have evidently convinced our people that we are truly in a different era; an era of responsible and focused government.

“This administration is one that keeps its promises to the people. Our government is one that puts the people first and keeps them in focus. We will continue to show our people that our word to them is a sacred oath that we will continue to honour.

“We are resolved to restore the reputation of government as the government of the people, for the people and by the people.”

He said his administration’s dream of making life comfortable for the people could hardly be achieved without electricity.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Mr. Kunle Ige, said the project cost N125 million.

He said many communities that had lost hope on electricity have heaved a sigh of relief, courtesy of the Aregbesola administration.

Well done Aregesola. States should simply try to bypass the FG when feasible because delivering for citizens is what matters the most.

They can do what they want but the PDP is finished in the SW and no amount of mischief or desperate lies will bring them back. Nor any attempt to rubbish the efforts of those far better than them.

OP, please correct the title. It appears this is a substation unit and not a power station per se!

He should shut the heck up and do his job, what is he a governor for? Why is he praising himself as if the N127m is his personal funds. The monthly allocation is from Federal Government and its meant for development of the people and their communities. Thanks but no thanks to a wife who praises herself after cooking evening food for the kids after receiving money from husband.

for the pdp / jona monkeys

note the following:

inaugurates not plans to, not feasibility studies, not MOU, not vows to, not promises

thats the difference between the sw governors and your aso rock monkey - they make noise after project completion - not when project has not even entered drawing board

ACN governors are always completing projects before you hear about it while all the pdp does is announce allocation of money to projects.
