Think u are maths guru? Try dis:
Elementary.
The three red blocks are of the same kind.
3x = 27
x=9.
The red blocks represent 9.
Three green triangles + red block (9) = 24
3x +9=24
x= 5.
One green triangle = 5.
One block (9)+ one triangle(5) + 2 circles = 96
9+5+2× = 96
x= 41.
One blue circle = 41.
So one blue circle (41) + one green triangle(5) + one red block(9) = 55.

I have been off this thread for a while, came back and saw the way you and some other peeps demystified those problems. Followed up some of your solutions and observed that you have a great analytical skill when solving problems and that's quite commendable.

Though elementary but this is wrong

The 3 square is same size that's x^3
Hence square is 3
The 3 triangle is same size too
Triangle is 2
The circle is 4
The answer to the problem is 4+(3×2)=10
QED

I think the idea is just to look well...didn't observe the "+" on the last line, thought everything was all " ."

Plus or times? I assumed addition.

You are very funny yet you didn't take the operands into context ( --> square and + --> addition). If we are to go according to the right operands the answer would be 49 not 10.

The picture problem. I assumed the operator was addition and not multiplication.

You like to make a mountain out of molehill.

You only need to solve for the last if you are going with the explanation of . as square. 4 + 3^2 = 49

The dot is just a placeholder. It has been explained to be square in this regard. Plugging those numbers into the different shapes gives us the following:

1) Square is 3

2) Triangle is 2

3) Circle is 4

Then circle + square ^ triangle --> 4 + 3 ^2 =49

. Is not square. Dot is simply multiplication so you are wrong with that

Okay. I thought it's a placeholder as in mathematical notation. Now that you explain that 10 is the correct answer. * is supposed to stand for multiplication.

Thank you
