Breaking News National Secretary Of Ohanaeze Warn Gej About Second Term Bid.. by oilsuop: 4:43am On Jan 03, 2013
The National Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nduka Eya said Jonathan promised Ndigbo that he would spend only five years in office, pointing out that if he has changed his mind to stay longer, he would meet Ohanaeze for re-negotiation, since it was generally agreed that it ‘’is our turn to produce the next president after Jonathan.’’

Ohanaeze has come out with its stand about the president and there is a book in which our President General, Chief Ralph Uwechue, had analyzed since three years ago. We do not want to dabble into politics, but the fact is that when Jonathan was contesting, he said he will only do only one term. That was what he said. So, the stand of Ohanaeze about presidency 2015 is clear. These are facts.

If Jonathan changes his mind which he has a right to change as a citizen, our position has always been consistent. Equality of zones as envisaged in geopolitical creation by Karibi-Whyte committee on the review of the Constitution is that the present geopolitical zones should remain: South-South, South East, South West, North East, North Central and Northwest. And it has been operational and they call it conventional.

So, Igbo people supported Jonathan for the same argument that this project called Nigeria belongs to all of us, and that at 52 years, a section of this country has monopolized the leadership of that master-key position called the president. If he wants another term, we have to renegotiate.

Lol. Nigeria has turned into an negotiation and agreement deal. Very sad.

I'm sure those who made the mistake of voting for him the first time wouldn't even like to repeat the mistake. once bitten, three times shy.

Please kindly give us name of the tribe that will win 2015 presidential election in Nigeria. How many parties was signatory when Jonathan won the election? Why won't igbos win in 2015? I think this is one Nigeria where all tribes are presumed to be one? Is there any tribe that has the monopoly to rule Nigeria? For how long will we continue to live in delusion? Have you forgotten that OBJ agreed to hand over to northerners after his eight years? How many people and parties was signatory to it?
What we all should be talking now is for we all to vote for a credible person not tribe.

With due respect, I don't see any igbo presidency in the nearest future. Either in 2015 or 2019 or even 2023 if there is still Nigeria then. Afterall we have Ebele Azikwe Jonathan who is also igbo grin as current president.
If u guys needs the presidency so bad, let's work together in breaking up this fraud of a nation.

I am an Igbo, but those Ohanzuzu folks has become greatest disappointment to their immediate family not entire Igbos. Bunch of cowards always finding a soft landing by negotiating with Any Govt in Power (AGIP) They are not affected by globalization, always repeating the same old mistakes and hoping for manna of Presidency to fall on their table.
Let them re-negotiate with him and hand him again 98% of Igbo votes and keep their South East Zone perpetually in shambles and divide. No wonder there's no govt that takes us serious.
Am sure if Jonathan wants to re-contest (as obvious) he will commit greatest campaign energy, funds, lobby and developmental ability in SW (because of ACN) and always ''Promising to hand over Power to Igbos in 2019'' That's all he will tell Easterners because everybody has known them to be ''Stomach minded Politicians''

He would also need to apologize to the SW for invading the region with soldiers during the subsidy palava protest. Even with that, I don't find the SW voting for him.

Frankly speaking you ain't far from the truth.why should Ohaneze be the only mouthpiece for ndi igbos? No consultations made to reach any final conclusion.it will be a very big shame if ohaneze falls into jonathan's trap.better still the country should split!

how can you even face me and ask this question?

look my friend, ndigbo set itself back 25yrs by agreeing to this fvckery called "geopolitical zones". what were igbo leaders thinking? ask yourself th is question, how has geo zones effected neutrality in sw? how has carving the big north into three zones changed alliance and loyalty in middle belt? geo zone in east has empowered a new contender struggling to assert itself as a relevant political bloc unallied with biafra or its destiny.

here is a simple truth; the presidency is always going to remain in contention between igno, hausa and yoruba. any minority occupying the seat is a surrogate for its parent sponsor.. ss-ijaw is viewed as an igbo surrogate. it will be the equivalent for yoruba if ss-itsekiri sits as a president, or nc - ilorin or kogi.

obasanjo - yoruba. handed over to......
yaradua - hausa. succeded by....
jonathan - igbo. will rotate to.......
- yoruba. then go to.....
- hausa. who will hand to.....
- igbo.

for 2015, yoruba ought to go to kogi or ilorin and grab a surrogate.

if you want merit as the criteria for choice i have bad news.

1. beside fashola (yoruba), no other governor has the skillset or the competencies to match his proficiency in public administration. he is the benchmark by which the output of other state governors should be calibrated.

2. first do away with geo zone, then we will start looking at choosing leaders based on their proven scorecard and track record.

These igbo people with their low brain capacity. Its very foolish for them to think the presidency will be given to them on a plater of gold. Instead of them to work hard and infiltrate the elite or "king makers",they sit await their turn. Okeyoooo! Let dem keep waiting.

Sometimes I come across with the impression that the Igbos on NL are much more brave and patriotic to the Igbo cause than the folks in real life...or is it all about the well known Internet gra-gra that Igbos are famous for ?
