Withdrawal of privilege might work so long he or she doesn't have other alternatives and it's executed moderately.
What works better iS a heart to heart conversation and explaining the need for the child to make amends and possible consequences if such changes are not made.
Any reasonable child will respond positively to that.
Other methods you suggested most times doesn't work and often times end up hurting the child even more.

I believe in 'the look'. . . every child understands that!
No need for shouting or spanking!
When you give a child 'THE LOOK'. . . HE OR SHE WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS!

Silent codes work best! kiss

Of course. . .nothing works for children under 21 grin
Waste of time. DEM NOR GET BRAIN YET.
From age 3. . . the lectures begin.
Lectures about actions and consequences. . . rewards and punishment!
NO SPANKING!!! kiss
