been wondering, what is the rationale behind scheduling of fast(ing) time in christianity? i understand the muslim one, its sunrise to sundown. they say lots of hadiths and quranic stuff to back it up... but whats the christian basis why do they say 6 pm? who fixed the time? what is the biblical backing for fasting time. im not a bible scholar so pls forgive my ignorance, but can u kindly enlighten me? |

the reason is the need to break the fast. You set a time to break the fast, nothing rigid. Its as the Spirit leads.May even be 12noon, or any other time fixed. Some fix 7pm, 4pm, 4:30pm, 9pm etc |
