Many are so impressed by Jesus' accomplishments and authority as a MIGHTY GOD that they have been tempted to worship him as the ALMIGHTY (remember that humans are gods too - Ps 82:6/Jn 10:34). But a closer look at the scriptures shows that Jesus himself has a God he worships and prays to, whom he also encourages us to worship, not him (Jn 20:17; Eph 1:17; Mk 10:17,18; Heb 9:24; Jn 8:54; Jn 14:28; Jn 16:23,24). Even some persons who tried to worship him or the angels or even his disciples were seriously reprimanded (Act 10:25,26; Rev 19:10; 22:8,9). So why do some people worship Jesus when he is merely a mediator between man and God? Why not worship Jesus' God?

And he himself drew away from them.... and bent his knees and began to pray, saying "Father, if you wish, remove this cup from me ... (Lu 22:39-44; Mt 26:39,42; Jn 11:41,42; Jn 17:6-26). I think we should be praying to the one Jesus prays to, not Jesus.
