Of course, what do you expect? This is a nation where impunity reigns supreme, where corrupt officials are celebrated, where a THIEF today is a CHIEF tomorrow, and where no one cares about anything other than money and material possessions (honestly acquired or otherwise). A fish gets rotten from the head. When civil servants see the president and lawmakers live in such opulence, THEY WILL STEAL. It's that simple. You can't set such a bad example at the top, and expect those under you to behave uprightly. You can't allocate N16 billion for a VP's lodge, and expect a civil servant not to try and divert some money so that he can build his own house too. You can't own and maintain 10 presidential jets, and expect the Perm Sec not to aspire to at least get a Hummer. You can't run the most expensive legislature (as a ratio of GDP) in the world and expect probity in the civil service. My point is, as long as there's a bad example coming from the top there will be NO change to the corruption and sleaze in the public service. So no amount allocated for any "interventions" will reach the intended recipients. The fish gets rotten from the head. 1 Like |

Intervention funds are seen as sharing of the national cake. Those in real need of the loans find it difficult to access while cronies and political associates of those in government fraudulently divert it into private use or other ventures. This shows the un seriousness of a government who sees the fraudulent misapplication of the bail outs and yet find it difficult to prosecute the thieves e.g Jimoh Ibrahim is still walking free after diverting such fund. What Nigeria needs for now is an Intervention towards the recovery of our stolen wealth and to get rid of the treacherous looting cabal ruling this nation! |

These interventure funds have translated into nothing and of no value to the common man. Tjhe monies are even collected and diverted by beneficiaries as they are not monitored to use same for the intended purpose. Some people will still come here and be praising GEJ that he is God-sent. This govt thrives in corruption. |

What we see is the folly of a treasury looting government! |

*laughing*..... Its really bn a long time dat Bokoharam bombings and manufacturd corruptn cases that hv any tint of credibility, has bn reportd.. Its ruining our 'job' ; we cant possibly stay idle and not do anything, so compute all proposd govts Interventions to diff sectors of d economy BEEN administerd by Commercial banks and write a 'report'. Yea, we know there is no evidence of corruptn yet, but just write it; at least we are sure of foooling some very many gullible Nigerians who only 'reason' from headlines, plus our many 'hardworking' online goons (NL et al) wud sure give d 'report' d various necessary 'interpretations'...... Hehehehe |
