Fresh facts emerged during the week as to the reasons behind the abrupt order from the Federal Government to the Comptroller- General of the Nigeria Immigration Service,Mrs.Rose Uzoma,to proceed on a compulsory pre-retirement leave.

Uzoma was ordered last Tuesday ,by the Federal Government to hand over her duties and responsibilities to the Service's most senior Deputy-Comptroller General, Rilwan Musa.

Findings revealed that the reason behind her sudden removal might not be unconnected to her involving the Presidency in the Service's latest recruitment saga.

A close source at the Ministry of Interior in Abuja confided in Ellist.com,that the Presidency decided to fire Uzoma,who he informed,has a few months left to her official retirement,for invloving the Presidency in the recruitment of new staff members to the Service.

The CGI was once rumoured to have shared the vacancy slots among certain prominent government functionaries- the president,president's mother,first ladies,minister of interior,among others.

While appearing recently before the House of Representatives Commitee on Federal Character,Uzoma ,who claimed she obtained the endorsement of the nation's Head of Service,to employ 4,560 people to the Service ,gave tha reason why the recruitment exercise was not advertised in the media, which was the grouse of the law-makers,who promptly summoned her for an explanation.

At the HOR,Uzoma said she did not advertise the job so as not to unknowinly recruit terrorists.

The vacancy slots given to top government functionaries were given as follows: President Jonathan,250 slots;First Lady, 100 slots; President's mother,40 slots; Minister of Interior,100 slots, among others.

The involvement of the President in the whole saga was said not to have gone down well with the President hence her compulsory sack.
