My uncle was opportuned 2b among dos chose 2 undergo a special police training in Jos whch in turn will elevate his working status when completed. They were 60 officers frm d state who went 4 d training. Successfully they completed it and came bak last december and decided 2 pay a courtesy call 2 d state governor. Five of dem went as delegates and were hosted by d governor. After hosting, d govnor ordered one laptop 2 b given 2 dem each as gifts including d remaining 55 officers. My uncle collected his own and came bak lookng joyfully. He kept d laptop 4 over 2wks and as a non-computer illiterate, he brought it out to see how he culd learn somtins abt it. D system bcoms faulty mayb power or somtin. 3 oda of his colleagues had d same complain on thier own. He wanted 2 take it back to request a replacement but was advised its not d best. If it were u, wat wil u do wit it? Will u take it bak or repair it urself or wil u just dispose it and save urself frm d govmental trouble?

Why would he return a gift? There are enough places in Uyo for him to take the lappie to and find out what the problem is.

It could be that the one to whom the contract of supplying laptops had substandard laptops amongst the geniune ones, it could be that the aides switched it (you know how some can be) or the battery was left in the laptop (thereby leading to discharge) and not removed prior to it being given out as a gift.

Has your uncle powered the laptop?

Of cos it was wen he tried to power it up dat he realized d lappie is not powering. Didnt know if it was power unit or wateva.

There are devices that can be used to check if the battery is still functioning...let him take it to some computer repair technicians
