Police Colleges Got N496 Million In 2012 by Iyaniwura123: 5:19am On Jan 27, 2013
Well, the first question that came to my head was this: 'which police college?' Investigations done by Punch has shown that almost N500 million (that's a cool half a billion) was budgeted by the Federal Government for the upgrade, renovation and rehabilitation of the various police colleges across the federation, not 10 years ago, but in 2012. #OluwaIsSurelyNotInvolvedInThisOne!

Details from the Budget Office of the Federation reveals that a humongous N307 billion (looks like billions mean nothing to us again o!) was set aside for the formations and commands of the Nigerian Police. N296.75 million was supposed to change the faces of the following:
-The Police Detective College, Enugu
-Police Mobile Force Training Schools (Gwoza, Borno State, Ila-Orangun, Osun State)
-ATS Training School, Nonwa-Tai (Rivers)
-Police Colleges (Ikeja (obviously, plenty money went to that of Ikeja...lol), Kaduna, Maiduguri (Borno), Oji-River (Enugu)
-Police Training Schools (Iperu, Ogun State, Ibadan, Oyo State, Oyin-Akoko, Ondo State)
-Mounted and Dog (human beings sef neva get, na bingo com dey show face)Training Schools.
-Communication Training Schools (Ikeja, Kaduna)
Interestingly, N200 million naira was set aside for the rehabilitation of the Police Intelligence College in Challawa, Kano State (intelligent move indeed).

As for the police stations and barracks, they said they budgeted N462.3 million for rehab and repairs (some of these people surely need to go for rehab) while N142.1m (that's close to a million dollars, baby!) was to go for the police management information technology systems (big grammar, little work) in the various police formations, commands and training institutions.

Anyways, the Federal Government has set up an 11-man committee to look into the decay at the various colleges (Now, isn't that just cute?! Awon alainikanshe gbogbo!), the committee is headed by the Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade (really?) and they are expected to probe and ascertain the amount of funds set aside for the police institutions between 2009 and 2012 (and what will that teach us?).

They will also look at the budget of the police and verify its utilization for the upgrade of the police training institutions (obviously, the money has been fantastically and cokastically utilized as we can all see!)

The Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba declined to comment of the matter. He said that he comments only on routine operational and administrative matters. (If you ask me, na who I go ask?)
Pictures below show the female dormitory and toilets at the Nigerian Police Force College, Ikeja, Lagos State. Sorry, I didn't mean to make you puke this early momo. Have your say, good people of Nigeria!

That sum is pretty low.

Although we must acknowledge its a 3rd world country with limited resources. But that sum is still pretty low for the proper maintenance of proper police colleges nationwide.

But Jonathan Goatluck and his thieving Sambo planned to build a 16 billion naira residential building for vice-president, even when such is not necessary going with the fact that the thieving vice-president has multiple houses to live in. What about the 10 billion naira budgeted for the maintenance of over bloated presidential aircrafts?

The silver back gorilla occupying aso rock also allocated 300 million naira to his residence pets i.e. dogs occupying aso rock. Limited resources indeed, but not when the drunken goat is sending his wife to Germany for routine medical checks.

It is considering what the Presidency spends on food, airplanes and other things that amount to frivolities in the grand scheme of things.

While Jonathan budgeted #1.5 billion to build a mausoleum for Nnamdi Azikwe ! shocked
Seems the dead gets more respect in Nigeria than the living under his administration.

If what NASS approved for the Presidency amount to frivolities then the same can be said for all A.C.N controlled States, Lagos State entertainment / refreshment budget is the worst.

@the topic
We have seen what was approved for Police Schools, next should be what is the total sum these Schools requested.

Was their budget estimate different from the allocation and if yes why?

This amount should not have been allocated as a lump sum, however the allocation is very poor and not encouraging seeing the level of dilapidation in Police College Lagos which is not different from others across the Nation.

If we are actually in a "country" with a president that got "balls", HEADS should have been rolling right from the day the CLOWN visited the police college.
This issue is a perfect one for the president to make a huge political impact but like Mikel....he threw away the penalty.

Let's agree that the sum is "pretty low" - in your words.

Now what has he (Olubolade Caleb) done with the pretty low 500m?

You guys shouldn't blame GEJ here at all. The Minister carries all the blame.

Frawzey.
