I'm not a killer, but don't push me. Actually I'm not a killer at all. Even if you pushed me, I probably would blurt out a bunch of baseless threats and go back to living my extremely comfortable life in the plush slums of Mi Casa de Xilla out in New Jersey. VIDEO: RICK ROSS THE VICTIM OF A DRIVE BY SHOOTING I understand the importance of being real to myself, but I refuse to be a victim of when keeping it real goes wrong. Because we all know no one needs to keep it too real. When you keep it too real, you end up getting shot at as you drive your Rolls Royce back from the hood to your mansion. Translation like Rick Ross. Last night someone tried to kill the Miami rapper, and methinks his hardcore lyrics came back to haunt him. I'm glad he's not dead, but I urge Ross to separate his rap persona from his real life persona. Because while God forgives, God ain't going to stop a bullet in the gut from taking your life. MUSIC: RICK ROSS - BOX CHEVY Same thing goes for Chris Brown. I like his music, I would like to keep hearing it, and random acts of violence like fighting over a parking spot will land him in jail. A jail where the lifers don't take too kindly to felons charged with beating women. I can't understand why celebs who have a kajillion dollars in the bank start acting like poor people. Not even poor in the sense of not having any money, but poor in logic, home training and the basic instructions on how to interact with people. These days, it's common knowledge that rap music is for entertainment only. When Jay-Z raps, "RoosterDrinker, I'm 730, y'all know where y'all niggas gonna wind up? Only but a matter of time 'fore I hit y'all niggas with a nice shot," I can easily answer his question. I'll wind up right in my home office listening to Blue Ivy's father on this J-Cole record. I know that Jay-Z is a businessman who is also his own business. I strive to be like him. I want to be a mogul. I assume Rick Ross did as well. He has used his dope lyrics about putting lames to sleep, moving drugs, and getting people killed to craft himself an empire. MMG is without a doubt the hottest crew in the game right now. But there must be a time when the lyrics stay at the studio and that "real shit" transforms into another comfortable night in a Miami mansion with maids and chefs to make you whatever your heart desires. It's time for these millionaires to leave this thug mentality behind for the thugs. The same way Denzel Washington plays a role, it's totally OK for these rappers to play their roles as well. And what we really need are role models.
