I bought HP ENVY DV6-7125NR with Windows 8 and I had wanted to downgrade it to Windows 7 hoping it was just ordinary way we used to do it.
I found it difficult, have given so many people but they couldn't do that.

I have deleted all the recovery file hoping that I had nothing to do with windows 8.

Now I have decided to restore it back to its original state.
I have contacted HP office but the recovery CD is only ordered from USA & Canada making it difficult for me.

Is anyone using such system, can you help with CD.

i should be able to copy a recovery partition for you from my friends system who happens to have the same PC. problem now is i am not with him yet. i will get back at you when i lay my hands on it. i am always at Abuja or Lokoja so no ish

pls if you can i wil be very grad. Only what u need to do it to get dvd about 3 or 4 and open from options on how to create recovery cd. It is found from control icons. Then burn them for me,i wil pay you. Thanks

Most Hp has a recovery partition that can be
access by pressing f11
on start up until you see a recovery
manager. try it for yourself.

The hp in built recovery will
not work if the
recovery partition has been
altered or affected by a MBRvirus

You are very right sir! Though I think the guy is savvy enough to figure it out...he seems to be an engineer who just need a help...he already deleted the recovery partition on the PC which was windos 8 pre-installed.


My advice for he again! If he can't get a recovery CD for the PC then do a fresh installation of windows 8 becuase I bet with you, its gonna be hard to get windows 7 on that system....I know what's I am saying. if he wants tto confirm go check online, HP doesn't suppoort that Series on windows 7. Do get a windows 8 DVD and install using your original key that came with the PC

I no longer want to install windows 7 anymore since me and all my engineers have tried many days without achieving anything.
It was the amount tries that deleted my recovery partition until I discovered that windows 7 cant be installed on it since it has GPT partition style instead MBR which windows 7 run on.

Getting another windows 8 installed will not give me all the drivers except I go to HP site start downloading close to 1GB data owning the speed of Internet and charges inclusive.

Let us calculate the code.
New Windows 8 = N25,000 or more
Recharge etisalat for 3GB = 6,000
Total amount N31,000
At the end I will not get the system to its original form.

From HP site I can only spend 18usd to get the recovery CD but only if give US or Canada address where to collect it to Nigeria.

It is far batter for to order the original cd that the shortcuts.

If I cant get anyone who has the similar system here in Nigeria the only option is for me to look for any help on someone who do order things from US or Canada to help me out.

Up till now I don't have anyone.
