The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe has labeled opposition of the ruling government led by Goodluck Jonathan as noisemakers.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, he commented on the Presidency’s accusation against the opposition of carrying out a campaign of calumny against President Goodluck Jonathan by presenting him as incompetent and clueless.

“Achievements and competence are always not judged by noise making, propaganda and deception which are the hallmarks of the activities of the Nigerian opposition.” He said.

Mr Okupe also rejected the statement that the present administration has left the country worse than it met it stating that the opposition is responsible for such false claims.

“The repeated false claims by the opposition that the president is incompetent, is not only untrue and obviously cannot be supported by facts but it is also part of the oppositions’ grand strategy to present Government as not being ineffective so as to advance their own selfish cause.”

He also called on Nigerians to ignore such “wild and baseless comments” and support President Goodluck who he described as a “silent and effective achiever”.

He added that what remains are part of works in progress which, hopefully, will be resolved before the end of 2014.

For the records, I am not a fan of any party be it PDP, ACN, APGA, CPC and all that! But this Jonathan, he will always have my support, I see Jonathan as that man who will eventually break the monopolization of Nigerian party politics into shreds, not even the merger of the other parties can fix this country's problem. In the area of basic amenities; potable water, power supply, working private sectors, good roads, etc previous governments have failed us but would rather leave Nigeria worse than the way they met it! Now Jonathan has began to work on those ailing basic amenities destroyed by previous governments, but goons in the house will not let him rest!

In the literal sense, they are indeed noisemakers.

Honestly, They are noise makers. I'm not for or against any political party. but if one critically evaluate what happens in the media and here on NL. one can't but agree.

Okupe is a life time dumbass, his arguments are always based on emotion, buck passing and blame game. Its no one's fault that government praise singers have been able to convince many on government's "mouth performance" , No wonder the opposition now assumes a larger than life posture when it became obvious that those in Government are featherbrained masquerades and jokers
