The people of the South-West under the aegis of Yoruba Unity Forum, YUF, yesterday lambasted the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan for the lopsidedness in appointments at the federal level.

At a press conference addressed by former Secretary to the Federal Government, SFG, Chief Olu Falae, the forum said Jonathan had been unfair to the region in the sharing of federal offices.

The conference was attended by prominent Yoruba leaders such as the YUF Chairman, Bishop Bolanle Gbonigi; Mrs. Kofo Bucknor- Akerele; Senator Bode Olajumoke; Chief Abiola Ogundokun; Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa; Chief Dipo Jimilehin; Prof. Adenike Grange; Chief Tony Adefuye; Dr. Kunle Olajide; Mr. Tokunbo Ajasin and Chief Akin Omojola.

The forum tasked the President to consider the interest of the region in any other top federal appointments.

The group said the Yoruba people were being systemically short-changed in the distribution of entitlements under the Jonathan administration and thus being deprived of their rights to equality of treatment.

The YUF warned that the complaints about the systematic marginalisation of the Yoruba should not be equated by the President to the usual cries of marginalisation from all geopolitical zones.

The forum regretted that no Yoruba man or woman is ranked in the 12 topmost positions that constitute the apex of the political power hierarchy in the country.

Now I biliv the only way we can stop regionalism nd regionalism in Nigeria is putting some things in place. Mite sound impossible, buh its possible. 1: scrap local government Or state of origin identification certificates so we know, wether u are in any part of the country, that region is rightfully urs. 2: any tribe cn contest in any state if u are loved by d pple, therefore, u don't have to be a Yoruba man to contest for oyo state govenorship, u don't havve to b an ibo to contest in Enugu. If Fashola made his bones in edo or abia, nd d pple like him, if he wants to contest for govenorship, by all means , giv him d way nd support him. Wen all these are put in place, welld knw we are all Nigerians and if any1 is in power, nobody shld complain of being sidelined, afterall who are u? Aren't u a Nigerian. Nofin like tribe. This is a possible solution to tribalism nd regionalism cries. Fanks!

THERE IS NO NEED OF TALKING MARGINALIZATION.
THERE IS ONLY A NEED TO DECIDE WHEN 2015 COMES.
A MAN WHO DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE TERM CALLED INCLUSIVE GOVERMENT.
YORUBA'S DESTINY IS IN THEIR HAND.
I DO NOT SUPPORT ANYTHING THAT LOOKS LIKE WHINING.
WE KNOW SOME DO IT CONSISTENTLY, BUT YORUBA SHOULD NOT.
OLD MEN, SHUN WHINING AND LEAD THE NEW GENERATION TO ACT POSITIVELY.

Most Nigerians --- even amongst those that can read and write--- are too "uneducated", backwards, wild, and barbaric to comprehend the advantages of what you just posted.
