NAF Has Only One Serviceable Aircraft For Training’ by dulaman: 10:32am On Feb 08, 2013 |
The Air Officer Commanding Training Command, Air Vice Marshall Isyaku Umar, has lamented that the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna has only one serviceable aircraft for the training of officers and men. Umar told Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh, who was on his maiden familiarization tour of the NAF base in Kaduna yesterday that “the NAF base has only one serviceable aircraft used in the training of its personnel”, saying the training base needs a minimum of three aircraft to be able to conduct its local training as well as VIP missions. He said since his assumption the command has been able to aid the federal government’s efforts in internal security operations with men and helicopter deployment and has as well participated actively in the recent Mali operation in line with NAF’s directives. The command, according to him, has successfully graduated six student pilots (SP) of 38 course and five student instructor pilots recently concluded their training at 303 Options Training School. Speaking after his tour of various units in the NAF base, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Alex Badeh said his visit to the Kaduna Training Command was to familiarize with officers and men of the command with a view to repositioning and moving the Air Force forward. “I expect myself to give approval for maintenance of facilities that are dilapidated... we are recruiting more and more people in the service now as our services are required at all times and if resources permit, we will build more accommodation for our officers and men. Kaduna base has always done well, although there are small challenges here and there, but the government is doing its best to provide for our needs”, he said. www.dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/news-news/50250-naf-has-only-one-serviceable-aircraft-for-training |

No facilities at police colleges, no facilities at d air force base. My question is y didn't the commandant mention it in their budget proposal and wht did d previous administrators did with d money that were allocated to them. Does he really want to repay those jets or is he looking 4 his own money to loot b4 leaving office? |

This is an insult to our Air combat capabilities. if this scenario is true then the Chief of Air Staff should resign and fortwith the highest rank in the Nigeria Air force should be a Group Captain until we are serious. |

The folks on this forum lamenting that nigeria is a disgrace and need eurofighters, apatches, merlins are fools..in a country with so much problems i guess this is smart way to spend money, what else do we need? Aircraft carriers? Nuclear subs?..this airforce commander before opening his mouth to complain, he should explain what happened to all the once bought previously, what is the maintanance culture of the nigeria airforce? What is the guarantee that the new once you want us to buy will not end up like the former and you'll start complaining again. These are the questions that needs answers. Rather you arm chair experts are saying trash!! |

I am not going to ask why the air crafts have a camouflage finish on them, its not like it can help them in the sky but this shouldn't surprise you guys, nothing works in Nigeria, the military certainly wasn't going to be the exception though only one aircraft for training has to be a lie. |

@ Mynd_44 "A lot of people can't read. In the Kaduna base not the federation. Smh". Find out how many NAF training schools we have in the country, then you will appreciate the implication of Kaduna base having only one serviceable training air craft. Honestly speaking, this country needs purging & cleansing! Add up the budget of Defence in this country for the past 10 years, & try to juxtapose that information with the state of our military, & you'll appreciate we need a Jerry Rawlings in Nigeria ASAP! |

outrage:No you shut your dirty mouth and insist on factual reporting and accuracy before calling anyone out. You cannot demand perfection when you yourself are peddling imperfection, inaccurate, smear reporting, and lies. And the base did not have "one plane". That is another lie from the pits of hell from where you came. 2 Likes |
