1.) Google Trends
Google trend is a great place to know what is currently trending around the world. It shows you what people are interested in or searching for right now and building contents related to the latest trends is a sure way to get huge traffic and social media followers and friends.

The first step is to create a fan page on facebook and twitter with a global name and reach. Avoid using country specific names or twitter handle. Once created, posted trending topics to your blog or website and then proceed to share and tweet them on facebook.com and twitter.com respectively.

Make sure you set the fan page posts settings to public to enable public users to be able to search your posts. Facebook and twitter search mechanism are beginning to gain ground and with over 10billion searches made on facebook daily, your site traffic can benefit from this immensely.
