The Bayelsa lawmaker said President Jonathan was God’s gift to salvage Nigeria

If Nigerians knew what was best for them, they would beg President Goodluck Jonathan to contest for a second term in office in 2015, a lawmaker has said.

The lawmaker representing Ogbia Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Obedient Emoto, on Thursday, called on Nigerians to persuade President Goodluck Jonathan to seek a second term in office.

Mr. Emoto, a former Chief Whip of the Bayelsa House of Assembly, said that Nigerians must shun divisive tendencies, hatred and religious bigotry in order to attain political development.

The lawmaker made the call in Yenagoa when members of the Ogbia Legislators Assessment Foundation paid him a visit.

Members of the foundation had visited the lawmaker to congratulate him on his recent award as `’The Best Performed Lawmaker of the Year’’.

Mr. Emoto said that the choice of Jonathan as the President of Nigeria was a divine decision from God to salvage the nation from the shackle of poverty, deprivation and underdevelopment. grin grin grin grin

He stressed that Nigerians would gain more from Jonathan’s eight year rule. Mr. Emoto advised Nigerians to allow the president rule the country for a second tenure to enable him consolidate on the gains of his laudable policies and programmes.

He said that only the people could compel the President to seek a second tenure, as Mr. Jonathan, being a faithful servant of the people, would never turn down the call.

The lawmaker advised Nigerians to be united in the fight against terrorism that was currently threatening the corporate existence of the nation.

The way these adulators, fawn on GEJ is quite disturbing. This man must be daft if he feels Nigeria is so unfortunate, that GEJ is the best it can produce. The fisherman shall be paddled to Otueke if he remained ineffectual come 2015!

Did I just see 'BEG', this is an embarrassment on the whole federation.
Can someone tell him, you only beg someone who has done exceedingly well, by the way you don't beg someone who has aspirations for a second term in office(you beg someone who doesn't).

Also about the point where he said the choice of Jonathan was a divine decision by God, that is just blasphemous. About time there is a cleardistinction between God and state.

people like this, are the reason why Nigeria will remain backwards!

All these are expected. The movie has just begun.

Now watch out for the following:

-N2N high definition Campaigns
-Several interest support groups with names like Youth Arise for Nigeria YAN, Concerned citizens of Nigeria CCN, Niger-Delta Professionals etc (as in the days of Abacha) -calling on GEJ to contest
-A rapid depletion of our foreign reserves

Nigerians are in for it as this corrupt, selfish, clueless and dull man called Jonathan will stop at nothing until he achieves his aim: which is to rule Nigeria by whatever means for 8 years and of course with the tacit support of some greedy Nigerians.

Only God can save us!

I suspect GEJ initially didnt want to re-contest in 2015 (which may have necessitated his 7yr single tenure proposal). But from all indications, it appears the antics of the opposition and senseless critics have made him change his mind just to prove them WRONG.

^^ GEJ is a person who has no mind of his own. You're now indicating that the opposition dictate his actions? He really needs people to think for him or he needs a brain transplant.
