My rover 600 vibrates frm 40 mph and stops when I cross 60 mph. My mecho suspect d steering rack but I need more opinions b4 seeing him again. Thanx. |

Thanx.i do not know if steering racks cause such vibrations. where do you sense the vibrations? If rear, check your tyres. Do a balnace check on them (balancing). If the vibration is in front, balance the front tyres, check your bearings and ball joints. if those are fine, check your knuckle bearing (mechanics call it 'spider bearing'). |

bro if your car is a front wheel drive and has gotten over 100k miles, then your problem is most likely the inner cup of the drive shaft, if they remove the shaft, feel it with your hand and check if it is worn |

ARES: bro if your car is a front wheel drive and has gotten over 100k miles, then your problem is most likely the inner cup of the drive shaft, if they remove the shaft, feel it with your hand and check if it is worn There is nothing on FWD car drive shaft called inner cup, rather CV joint (Constant Velocity Joint). I have a similar issue with my 2005 honda city but mine started after it was involved in a nasty crash ... Please can more light be shed on this issue cos as soon as I exceed 60mph it stabilizes the vibration is felt mainly at the front right wheel |
