It appears as if the legendary twin stars of “Sister Sister” have a bond so deep that they’re willing to endure some of the most uncomfortable situations to give the other twin satisfaction in their misery. Tamera challenged Tia to eat her placenta. The challenge was an apparent attempt at revenge since Tamera was challenged to tasting Tia’s br*ast milk during her pregnancy.

Here’s what Tia had to say of her sister’s placenta: “Tasting Tamera’s encapsulated placenta was very interesting! If you think about it too much, you’re not going to like it, because all you’re going to think about is that you’re consuming placenta. But I was really, really surprised that it tasted pretty good mixed with a little bit of alcohol. It was definitely Tamera paying me back for making her taste my breastmilk. I tasted my own breast milk and I still think my breast milk was sweeter than Tamera’s placenta!”

Although Tia’s challenge may sound bizarre — and it is — women are encouraged to consume their own placenta as a natural fix to to fighting off post-pardum depression.  New York Times blogger, Nancy Redd, wrote about her experience placenta-consuming experience in an blog post titled “I Regret Eating My Placenta.” Redd alleges that after eating her placenta, her hormones were uncontrollable. “Part of the reason I wanted to eat my placenta in the first place is that I am fascinated by the human body and all that it can do,” Redd wrote. “The placenta is an incredible organ that deserves celebration. But — as with the appendix and other organs that the body tends to deem unnecessary — once it comes out, maybe it should stay out.”
