**our children who will go there will be trained in French so that when they graduate, they will stay there and complete their degree courses.

Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said at the weekend that the state government is building mega secondary school in Niger Republic to boast industrialization.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen after the just concluded 34th Kaduna international trade fair, the governor said industrialization has its foundation in good educational background.
“Industrialization means a lot to us, especially in Kano State, and it is beyond just building industries; it’s beyond just establishing canteens and shops. Ours start right from primary education to secondary education, to tertiary institutions.

The trend we were used to before has completely changed, and I believe that in many years to come, things will change, so the best way to be relevant today and in the future is to be educated. That is why we are encouraging our young men, women and children to be educated. It is also for that reason that we have free primary education, and distribute free books five times a week,” he said.
He stated that the state government has built over 1,500 class rooms in the past one year, and has trained teachers to ensure quality education.

“We have so far built 400 houses for teachers in junior secondary schools, especially the once outside the city of Kano to encourage them.
As we are sitting here today (Saturday) the deputy governor is in Niger laying the foundation of the mega secondary school which we intend to run together with the government of Niger Republic, and our children who will go there will be trained in French so that when they graduate, they will stay there and complete their degree courses or go to other French speaking countries to do other programmes,” he said.

In fact if this is true, then we do not have a government here in Nigeria. How come a governor will build a mega secondary school in Niger Republic if not to train Northern muslim fanatics and achieve their muslim boko haram needs?
Why can't this governor be brought to book as this is an act of terrorism to

Exactly. Now that Mali has been made non-operational, they must find another space in the desert to train terrorists against Nigerians.
Somebody said " why is he building a school in Niger Republic instead of somewhere in Kano state, Nigeria? "
ANSWER = He is actually not a Nigerian. He is originally from Niger Republic.

Distingeration is imminent in nigeria. There would be war over key territories. Islamic north needs alliance and soldiers and niger is a good choice.

When we talk, e go be like say we dey rant. I've said it dat bad leadership is nt our problem bt bad constitution/laws.
We shld stop concentratn 2mch power at d center/federal and adopt fiscal federalism ; let every state develop at its own pace, with what it has.
Kwakwanso can do ds cos of free oil money dat comes from d niger delta and maybe cos he has hz roots in niger rep. If kano generates it's own money, they wnt squander it like ds or open their doors for immigrants to come and displace them from their scarce resources.
The ordinary northerner loves d arab ppl & con3s mor dan Nigeria and nigerians 4rm d south. Ds is why i'll find it hard voting a northerner into power cos they are so pro-arab and the arab world is nt known for technological or political breakthroughs. They are known for concentratn too much money in d hands of a few(y do u think d north is nt workn?). I am yet to see a 'performing' northern governor!

The Governor should go ahead and build a Mega Hospital in Niger that will facilitate health care , where the excess of the 10 Million indigents can go for medicare by french speaking Doctors. Also a this will boost industrialization as the Excess of the french speaking Doctors who read medicine will have a place to practice their french speaking medicine and a Mega Bank with Mega ATM in Niger will be good too so that those who go for Schooling and healthcare can have a Mega financial institution that will cater for their Mega Needs

The same Kano that intoroduced Islamic police to Nigeria while other states just watched
Why not build a secondary school in the south?
So now, lazy Hausa politicians who have refused to soil their hands raising their own revenue, but depends on southern oil derived revenue, now use some of that excess unneeded revenue is used to sponsor and build a secondary school in a foreign country. Please note, Kano has so many almajiris, they don't even know what to do with excess 4-19 year old boys roaming the streets, yet building a secondary school in Nigeria Republic remains an option? Am I missing something?

what the governor is saying here is that global footprint and productivity are going hand-in-hand and careers of the future will attract candidates who are bilingual. beside english, french is considered international language. by giving the children a head start in this direction and exposing them to diversity they will end up with an edge in the job market.

west should look into this idea, its applaudable and worth pursuing for yoruba children to receive education across the border.

The constitution shouldn't permit a State to do this with another country. How can the FG let this happen? Can't they simply make it necessary for students to study a second language?
