In Nigeria, the route pipeline passes is termed "Right of way" under the law, no sane human being has the right to go near it, An ambulance carrying an accident victim has "right of way", are you saying you should be compensated for blocking an Ambulance?

here in portharcourt, Shell's ROW are cleared and locked, you need authorization to walk through let alone build a house, except when the pipeline has been decommissioned.

the sad truth is that, you are already homeless the day you chose to build on a right of way

It's only naive people that will support these mass destruction without any plan or process. The same wicked govt will have been collecting rates from homeowners. NNPC is not even a govt but feels its right to go and pull down anything. What about those whose properties were their before NNPC?

God help us with this shambolic country.

l pray that the same thing happen to all their NL supporters and they come back from work and find their homes bulldoze with no opportunity for recompense . Or one day, the shelter over your lives are pulled down suddenly. Amen

Problem is, there is no way to determine if the dictatorship will be "prudent".

Will a dictator be a Lee Kuan Yew, or will (s)he be a Mobutu?
