Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, yesterday said his administration is currently executing about 1, 966 projects across the state to realise his objective of turning Lagos into Africa’s modern mega city.

Speaking while fielding questions from journalists shortly after inspecting ongoing projects in Lekki and Victoria Island axis of the state, said the projects were aimed at transforming the state.

Fashola’s words: “Currently we are executing about 1, 966 projects across the state and I don’t think that we have been to 300.
So all the projects we have visited really are the ones that have problems. Those are the projects we have been going to see what the problems are instead of just reading reports.

“We come to have a feel of it and see whose ministry is responsible and what we can do to ensure that the ministries and contractors are communicating.

Sometimes there are local issues, people go to court, but we have come out here to ensure that we get as many of those projects completed.

The governor said the projects when completed will further endear the party to the electorate, saying the party will defeat the opposition with a wider margin in the 2015 general election in the state.

He assured that the Ikoyi-Lekki Link Bridge will soon be commissioned, saying the bridge requires finishing works and installations of a toll plaza.

Great but is he trying to tell us he's running for third term as Lagos state governor??

I feel like some of these projects could go under other projects and be seen as one. 1,966 is a lil over ambitious and seem as a strategy to inflate budget.

As much as I think Fashola's administration gets job done, I also feel a maintenance team has to be created. It's not about building the mega city but ensuring that Lagos remains one.

^^^^^^^^ 1966 projects for a state with 30 years of infrastructure deficit is under ambitious, but we are happy they are in the race and heading in the right direction..

2. Go make arrangements to send food to your brothers in Badagry Prison (Ladipo miscreants).

3. Go and find out who demolished Oju-Iku's library in Owerri.

4. Go and mobilise your brothers so tjat they can clean up Ladipo market so their shops can be reopened.

Need I say more?? Isn't it obvious you have a lot to do instead of exhibiting your crass b igotry laced with incurable inferiority complex??

In that number, there are about 1000 photoshops and computer generated projects that only exist in the pages of propaganda news media.

What an overrated Governor who uses media to deceive the gullible and uninformed.

Let him account on how he is squandering N40,000,000,000 per month as GEJ is required to account for $65B external reserve.

you don't really expect him to do that do you? It would be a waste of time waiting for that piece from an incoherent fraudulent governor hiding behind the Yoruba media. He'd rather wait for his servants on nairaland to try to do that. This is a man that commissions a private project, invites ALL the media and takes the credit.
