As much as I want all Nigerians to stay in Nigeria and salvage it together, I also want the UK and their supporters to return all stolen goods and money to Nigeria. This will certainly help us to stay.

Imagine PM David Cameron and the rest of his families (UK) getting paid for lost slaves during the abolition of slave trade. Yes, David Cameron's family was rewarded £4,101, equal to more than £3M of today to compensate them for the 202 slaves that were forfeited on the Grange Sugar Estate in Jamaica. This is sad. The country acquire the name "great" through the sweat of others. Africans have not received a dime for compensation.

The UK is becoming an increasingly hostile country to foreigners, though I cannot say I blame them. However, they should be careful they do not dissuade immigrants to such a point that it affects their economy.

On the plus side, if they frustrate the residing migrant family members and they all go home, they will use the expertise/experience gained to develop their respective countries. Maybe that is what is required to move a country like Nigeria forward.

Immigration is certainly a problem in Britain but paying fees to enter is the wrong stance for an EU state. Highly hypocritical, considering the major influx is from eastern EU states. But just as the many governmental propositions before this one, Labour will now come out in force to slam it and propose an equally BS proposition that the general voting public will forget by the next election. I hate UK politics.

It is a relatively small country and immigration is a big problem...go to places like Ealing or Southall in southwest London and you would be forgiven for thinking you took a wrong train and ended up in Bombay!

Recent census statistics show that for the first time, Ethnic Britons are a minority in London. Imagine having more Ghanians living in Abuja than actual Nigerians...

It's quite sad really. The Guardian did a series on poverty in London and it really shows that the government have no clue how to handle this crisis effectively. They cap housing-benefit (largely immigrant-oriented in London), evict loads of families who can't afford the raised rents, but then councils/tax-payers end up paying more cash than before to house them in hotels/hostels because by law these people cannot be homeless. Eeek.

I agree with taking measures but using money to dictate who can/can't enter the UK is not fair to those with plenty of sense but no cash.
