I have asked several of my friends this question and I don't get any precise answers from them. Pls what is tomatoes called in your native dialect.

Well, since tomatoes were introduced from the Americas, we don't really have a native name for them.

Anything that's not native to Africa or some parts of Africa are mostly likely not gonna have a native name and tomatoes is one of those things. Though a name can be given to it but it's most likely not gonna be a word but a sentence that describes it. For instance, i most African languages, there's no single word for school. What we have is an explanation. In Igbo for example, school is called "Ulo-Akwukwo(House of book)". It's the same with Yoruba's "Ile Iwe(House of book)". The same thing can be done for "Tomatoes".
