The judiciary workers union said the government has not met its demands.
Court workers in Nigeria have been directed to commence an indefinite strike from Monday.
The workers’ union, the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria , JUSUN, gave the directive on Friday.

The communiqué calling for the strike was jointly signed by Marwan Mustapha, JUSUN National President, and Issah Adetola, the General Secretary; and issued in Abuja on Friday.
The union said the strike was in protest against the non-implementation of the consolidated salary structure, CONJUSS, for the workers.

The union on February 5 gave a 21-day strike notice to the Federal Government over the demand.
It said then that unless steps were taken towards implementing the CONJUSS by midnight of March 10, the union would have nochoice but to shut all federal courts.
“In view of the non-compliance with the ultimatum issued, the Special Emergency National Delegates Conference in session hereby directs that all federal courts be shut down indefinitely with effect from Monday 11, March 2013,’’ it said.


The communiqué listed the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the National Industrial Court as the affected courts.
It further listed the Judicial Service Committee, Abuja, as the other institution to be affected.
Should the strike proceed as directed, all cases in the affected courts may be stalled from Monday.
