Second Republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has made his stand clear on why boko haram was form when he berated President Goodluck Jonathan for denying Boko Haram amnesty because the sect is faceless. He said the President was being economical with the truth.
According to him, members of the sect took up arms, just like the Niger Delta militants, when they realized that the Niger Delta militants gain so much from the Amnesty offered by the federal Government, so the felt doing same will also give them access to national treasures. That's why he said categorically in his speech which read "His people took up arms in the Niger Delta because they felt they should partake from the oil revenue being generated from their land and they were later granted amnesty" That is why boko haram took up arms also, but now the question is which resources are they fighting for

This is not a surprise to me,I have always known that this Boko Haram evil mechinations as a money spinning Mechadise,I think the desperation with which the Borno elders forum are calling for Amnesty says it all.GEJ has already said the truth,the group still remains faceless and the carrot and stick approach is the best method to be handling them.Shame to Northern leaders who can do better to end the evil but are still whipping sentiments.

Any keen watcher of the Nigerian politics and the antics of the north to remain perpetually relevant will not dismiss this accusation in a hurry. The northern oligarchy encouraged Boko haram for two reasons such as using it as a levarage to regain power by distabilising this administration and make it appear weak, and this is what has informed the gradual decimation of the minority Christian north with the aim of reducing the possibility of a voter block against a possible Muslim northern candidate. The other intention was to secure an equal attention by the way of amnesty for their youth to equal that of the Niger delta forgetting that the intent and cause of both struggles are wide apart. These northern elite should be in shame for holding this country bound for several decades by failing to improve on the lives of Nigerians in general and northern youths in particular inspite of owning a huge chunk of the oil revenue from the delta... They will fail completely
