Northern Governors And Elders Secretly fund Boko Haram From Saudi Arabia by Idokojimmy: 12:12pm On Mar 12, 2013
The media in recent times is awashed with continuous call for dialogue btw the FG and Boko Haram. The proponents of this theory(mostly northern Govs, elders, traditional rulers etc) often allude to the spate of violence inthe region or that the Niger Delta militants were once granted amnesty when they took up arms against the govt. according to the group, if the militants were given amnesty, why should BH not be given? Although their argument has been faulted at different fora by different security experts, one must continue to ponder on surprising viability of the sect especially in monetary aspect. Better put, how has the sect continued to fund its operations? While many claim that BH has link with alqaeda, recent discoveries show that the northerners including the Govs, elders and politicians are supporting them indirectly especially when they meet during their hajj in Saudi Arabia. Recall that all these influential northerners once met in Saudi to strategise against Jonathan. They have also exploited the hajj for business activities, as their level of influence there is measured on the degree of assistance you give to Boko Haram or other extremist groups working to islamise the country. http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=22742:northern-leaders-mobilise-against-jonathan-in-saudi-arabia&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 At these meetings, they agreed to pose a serious threat to the success of his election and his administration. They threatened to make the state ungovernable.
To add credence to this, one should ask himself why everybody is suddenly demanding that the FG meets BH in Saudi Arabia.yesterday, Alhaji Junaid Mohammed supported Sultan's call for amnesty, saying " as for me, I want the amnesty to be d outcome of negotiation that must take place outside Nigeria, preferably Saudi Arabia". While you may still be wondering about the financial source of the sect, reports have confirmed that the northerners are secretly championing their agenda. Their ultimate aim is to intimidate govt into granting northern youths amnesty.
Similarly, the Borno state Gov has further compounded the issue. Recently he held a meeting with boko haram where the sect allegedly announced a cease fire. Nigerians are yet to know how much he paid them to further their evil in the guise of dialogue. The pertinent question is, what impact has the meeting made? Have they gone after those still causing trouble or they collected money to aid their operations? Isn't this hypocrisy? An insider claims that following political activities in preparation for 2015 elections, the group is going to meet soon. Who knows what their plans would be this time? More funds for the group? More blast from the group? Or what? Must our collective funds meant for development be used to fund a terrorist group?

This is what we are passing through. Hypocrisy everywhere. No sincere move by the northern governors to call their youths to order. Their elder have become speechless. Their hitherto revered emirs, sultan and co have suddenly lose grip of being in control. Are they celebrating the death of innocent Nigerians? Time shall tell

i m not surprise, still awaiting much revelation...they have never shown any interest in trying to solve the problem of boko haram, instead they are just interested in the monetary angle, amnesty...abegii...make them gerrout

I have always thought as much. Instead of the Northern elites to channel their riches and resources into strategies and programmes which would benefit their immediate society and eradicate poverty in the North, they rather prefer channelling those resources into the sponsorship of insurgency.
Even, the Amnesty for BH which they are calling for, I don't think they even know the meaning. Amnesty means unconditional pardon for repentant wrongdoer(s).
So why call for Amnesty for an unrepentant group who has not even acknowledged that what they are doing is wrong. Is it not when one admits that what he/she is doing is wrong and asks for forgiveness that he/she is pardoned?
Abeg Abeg Abeg, the Northern elites should just quit this trash and think of more altruistic ventures through which to better the condition of the North. Shikenah!

I have always suspected them. Their silence and insincerity towards the resolution of the crisis supports this. I just hope our security agencies will keep a closer look on them and address the issue once and for all. But history has already recorded it against them

They are all Bokos. If you guys are discovering now. Then you are learners. Boko Haram is a creation of northern Oligarch, their return will mean an end to it. That's where they are wrong though, cos they won't bomb Nigeria to submission

Hmmmmmmmm inthe guise of donating to victims abi? I wonder when, where and how they collated the names of victims to ascertain who and who is qualified to benefit. Another ploy to fund the sect
