now to share this 2005 piece by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Reube"New post on The ScoopNG “His Excellency, the Executive Fugitive of Bayelsa state”: What Abati wrote about Alams in 2005 by TheScoop As the uproar continues to rise over the amnesty granted by President Goodluck Jonathan to his 'political godfather', Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, it is fitting now to share this 2005 piece by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Reuben Abati. Since we know that very soon, Abati would be out in full force, parroting the wisdom in this decision, it is important for him to see his past opinions which are on the record on this matter. It's not like this is the first time he'll be doing an about-face though or endorsing shameful corruption. by Reuben Abati (23rd April 2008) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Naija-news/message/3913 |

Abati, the truth dribbler. You can't talk with your mouth full. He was hungry then but now, he's so fed to the brim |

What is Abati if not another hungry man who was only shouting because he was outside the 'chopping circle'? Now he is fat and bloated with petro-dollar, and the trappings of garish opulence, Abati is shafting himself with conduct that disgracefully betrays his past writings and purported belief. Anyone who has intelligent and upright kids will never become an Abati because you only need to look in your children's eyes to note that they will discern Daddy does not practice what he preaches. When your most valued asset do not respect you, what is the money worth and what/who will you spend it on? Then again I may be making the mistake of assuming Abati has even a single principled person connected to him in a familial sense. I hope selling his soul to the highest bidder is worth it for Abati considering government come and go while reputation should endure. 12 Likes |

The piece was written in 2005, not 2008. Abati should find enough courage to resign. This is a sad day for him. 4 Likes |

jhydebaba: So, the fact that Christiano Ronaldo won the UEFA champions league with Man utd in 2008, he should not score against Man Utd to eliminate them in 2013You took the words outta ma mouth. Jesus saw the zeal and passion for God's work in Saul even when Saul was prosecuting the early christians but he still took him in and redirect that his zeal to the gospel. . The world you see depends on the platform you stand, Abati is now in Aso Rock so you guys should just delete or burn all former thoughts or memoirs which he wrote when he was unaware of the workings of government 1 Like |

One of the points made by the embattled Governor on his return is that he has proven the "Nigerianness" in him. This may have been a slip of the tongue, but it is the truth. For indeed, there is an Alami in every Nigerian leader. We are a country of desperadoes to such an extent that when we criticise Alami and sound holier than thou particularly the sanctimonious crowd in the PDP and Aso Villa, what we are actually criticising is an aspect of our lives which has now been exposed due to a twist of fate in a foreign land. What has Alami done? One, he showed up in England with sums of money whose source he could not explain when he was asked to do so. How many big men in Nigeria can confidently explain the source of their wealth? You could be as poor as a church rat in January and become a multibillionaire in March, nobody will ask any questions. Because Nigerians love miracles, they will attribute the sudden change of fortune to a miracle made possible by a certain pastor's intervention.^^^ This really got me, rephrased below: For indeed, there is anTurncoat. 6 Likes |

The Man Died, the moment Abati accepted his Aso Rock appointment. But my concern is not for Abati but for the rest of us: what would we have done in Abati's position - where is the hope that we long for? As for the president, what wisdom is this, really? When will we see the worst of your ideals? Because just when we think we've seen it all, you surprise us again. 1 Like |
