President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday described the death of High Chief Bayo Akinnola, the traditional Prime Minister of Ondo Kingdom, as a great national loss. In a statement issued on Wednesday by the special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, Jonathan said he received the news of the death with sadness. The President, on behalf of the Federal Government, extended sincere condolences to the daughter of the deceased and Minister of Communications Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson. He also commiserated with other members of the Akinnola family and the Government and People of Ondo State. “The President joins them in mourning the illustrious Lisa of Ondo Kingdom, who distinguished himself in life as a renowned educationist, administrator, entrepreneur, industrialist and leader of his people. “President Jonathan urges Chief Akinnola’s family, friends, associates, dependants and admirers to be consoled by the knowledge that he lived a most fulfilled life, and has left a legacy of notable achievements in various fields of human endeavour,’’ Abati said. “The President prays that God Almighty will console all who mourn Chief Akinnola and grant his departed soul eternal peace,’’ he added. www.247nigerianewsupdate.com/akinnolas-death-a-great-national-loss-jonathan/ |
