Transmission is always handled by government. That is how they can control the sector. In UK generation and distribution are handled by private companies while the 'National Grid' is run by the government. USA also have this kind of structure. TCN was not sold, Manitoba Hydro is just a concessionaire to manage TCN for some period and also train Nigerians that will take it over from them.

@ogunwale01,tcn is not a private firm, a govt b manage by a Canada firm for just three years. d remaining 17(distribution n generation) re all private firms not govt. note, govt will not pay more not private firm. take for instance, sahara n govt paying d same salary. I know sahara bought one of the generation station n dey paid during d training process above 100k.so can c private pay more than govt ,even at the oil sector.

As much as I can't confirm †ђξ immediate cause, I strongly believe it stands τ̅☺ reason, based of †ђξ little observation I ♓ανε noticed IΩ̴̩̩̩̥ †ђξ system within †ђξ past 12months or thereabout. I will however not want τ̅☺ suggest †ђξ reasons here cos its not confirmed. But it maynot be unconnected with †ђξ issues of settlements of phcn staffs vis-a-vis funding also for training new intakes. I don't totally exclude "runs" factors, bt every new employee will go 2ru a structured training which dey refer τ̅☺ as "pupilage". It will involve field aπϑ classroom training. Classroom ♍aƔ take btw 2-3months.... I think what I will Ju̲̅s̲̅t say now iڪ: expect τ̅☺ resume within 2weeks of their next contact with us. aπϑ of cos, their recruitment plan (resumption) iڪ not earlier dan mid-september.

Hey guyz...I wanna appreciate all doze dat av kept dis thread lively and goin....I wanna say dat we are so priviledged 2 be coming into d Power sector at such a crucial and revolutionary time...We are indeed favored..Let's leabe d talk on how much d job is gonna pay....personally...I dnt give a hoot if am gonna be paid 5k for my 1st year...d truth is dat we are rily priviledged because d Power sector is about 2 blow...in d end,we gonna be earning way more box than our colleagues in d oil and gas sector...for nw,our focus shud be on getting d training and becoming relevant and indispensible in dis sector..dere is a huge dearth of Power engineers in Nigeria...d skilled ones are old and retiring,and we are obviously d take ova generation...TCN is a beautiful place 2 start...becoming a Power engineer wiv a background in transmission means u had do well in all 3 teirs(gen,trans,dist) cos transmission is like d fada of dem all...4 doze dat wud not be offered d job,I wanna say dat dere aint any need 2 give up if u had a passion for Power engineering...try again,and pls go 2 NAPTIN...power is gonna become so crazy...goodluck guyz....

@wallax, govt av started paying off phcn staff since first of august, so don't tink is abt d settlement. let's keep our fingers crossed. there's hope.
