After visiting the Awutu health clinic in Ghana, I’m impressed by their work on Malaria. Cases in this region have dropped by nearly 4,000 since 2011. One case is too many, but there are important lessons to learn from what is working. Ghana is making rapid advances on its path to development. There are now more mobile phones than people, the infant mortality rate has dropped 48% since 1990 and Ghana’s institutions are reducing inequity and promoting economic growth. In Ghana, I met with a group of small farmers participating in a program to grow food and sell it to the local school.
