My Q10 pushed 10.2.1. 3014 to me now for update, my current. OS is 10.2.1.2179. But i'm been advised 2 back up my phone b4 updating d OS. But I last update I did I didn't do any back up & I used my glo subscription. I plan using d glo sub also 4 dis update but my fear now is hope I won't lose what I have on d phone if I update without backing up my phone because I don't intend backing it up as I don't have a pc.

You have to download SACHESI, it's a PC programme. Run Sachesi, click on EXTRACT, in Extract sub-menu click on SPLIT and point it to the folder where you have your autoloader. It'll split your OS in two, one of the splits (the larger one) is the core OS, rename that to OS.signed, and rename the other to RADIO.signed.
Put both, together with the SIC multiwipe in a folder and run the SIC wipe. Disable your phone password before this.

If it's OTA, you have nothing to worry about. Backup is always necessary just incase something goes wrong. When it's being pushed by your carrier (OTA), the chance of running into any issue it's very slim. So go ahead.

Hello you can set it through your bbm option...if you just bought the phone that means you still have warranty on it while not take it to blackberry service center to complain because I don't think it's normal for the phone to be hot that much.

I understand your fear. I bricked two of my iPhones and one HTC phone many years back because I didn't follow simple instructions. I always shoot first and ask questions later
Anyways, follow the instructions and you would be fine, there's really nothing to worry about. Always read up before taking any further steps.
If you think the SIC wipe is complicated for you, just install the OS and do a security wipe.
