Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benítez has been sacked by Roman Abramovich after his Chelsea side failed to win Southampton in the weekend EPL

A Chelsea statement read, “Chelsea football club would like to announce that manager Rafa Benitez has left with immediate effect, subsequent to his failure to meet the performance criteria set out in the mind of the Chairman.”

Benitez has claimed the sacking was unfair, and that given time he could have delivered a Christmas number one for the Blues.
