THE Easter celebration in Ataka Village in Kaura Local Government Council OF Kaduna state was marred as gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen raided the area in the early hours of Sunday, killing over 20 residents.

Several other people were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to unknown hospital in the area while the gunmen disappeared because of the terrain of the area.

However, the police in state said they were yet to ascertain the number of those killed.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer , Aminu Lawan, A Deputy Superintendent OF Police, DSP, while confirming the incident said that the Area Commander and military operatives were trying ascertain the figure of those either killed or injured during the attack.

Said Lawan: “ There was an attack. Well people were actually killed but were still contacting the area commander who right now other security agency most especially he military to get the exact figures of those who lost their lives. That is what I told you. I said our area commander and the zonal commander as well as the military people are already at the place. And they are working hard to get the figures of those either killed or injured.

“Let us wait and see if in a short while they will get the figures. The place is call Ataka, just a little bit far away and it is a border town with Plateau state. The place had a lot of hard terrain.

“The incident , according to what we got happened in early hours of yesterday but because of the terrain, the hill and the mountains. Definitely it would be a kind of difficult for the operatives to get to the place but we are still hoping to get to the root of the incident. Our men are already there and they have already taken control of the place.”

He added that the command had commenced investigation into the incident.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the gunmen suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen stormed the village in the early hours of Sunday shooting sporadically and in the process, many people including women and children were killed.

He noted that but for the assistant from neighboring villages, the village which shares border with Plateau State would have been wiped out completely by the gunmen who were in charge for several hours.

According to the eyewitness, it was a serious attack as the gunmen just enter the village and open fire on everybody at sight.

He said: “At least, not more than 19 people were killed in the crisis in the Ataka Community in Ataka Chiefdom of Kaura area of the state. It is a border town with Plateau State. They just invaded the area and started shooting.

“It was a hostility. It was a serious attack. The gunmen open fire on everybody. Other people came from the neighboring villages. If not for the people that came from the neighboring villages to ward-off the attack, the gunmen would have wiped out.”

Foo.iish Nigerians who voted a paper tiger retardeen president are coming to cry soon! The killings is bad, perhaps affecting Christians more but the killers know nothing will happen to them afterwards. There is no deterrence in form of punishment for GEJ and his government is clearly incompetent, any loser will take him for a ride! It was under OBJ that some militants killed 6 Nigerian officers in Odi and after he demanded the killers to be found immediately and the corrupt Alamaseigha was puss.y-footing, he had the entire place levelled! Yaradua gave instruction that the original leader of BH after being caught in Borno, he and everything and everyone with him, be liquidated immediately and that was while he was away from Nigeria! That is extra-judicial deterrence but with the retardeen, what will happen? Nothing! Just more promises and committees!

you are getting it all wrong so soon. OBJ never did anything to fight the killings in the North , in fact when
sharia was declared which was followed up with killings like never before all he did was to say that Sharia will fizzle out with time. The Killings started even before Nigerian independence and it reached its peak in 1966 with the Gruesome murder of more than 50,000 igbos during the inept and unfortunate regime of Gowon , how did Nigerians respond to killing of Igbos , they did so by Asking Gowon to go on with one Nigeria , when the killing was too much for igbo and igbo protested with secession , Nigerians from all parts of the country reacted by using all manner of weapons including hunger to fight igbos. They never called Gowon to stop the killing of Igbos in the North.

Today Northerners are doing what the know how to do best and you are here blaming it on GEJ , why did not the same OBJ not level Maiduguri or Kano during his regime for the incessant crisis that erupted in those 2 cities why did he never use force on Zaria , kaduna and Katsina during the riots in his regime , OBJ is the biggest coward and hypocrite even Boko Haram founders attest to it.Below s what Boko Haram said about OBJ.
Even Boko Haram said that GEJ only inherited the problem left to brew by OBJ

“He was going to be a big catch” said the source who explained that the leadership halted the operation as Obasanjo went inside the residence of Babakura.

“Obasanjo was good to us. We had no problem with Obasanjo. We had him. We could have taken him out”, as he recalled that the sharia movement took off during the period when Obasanjo was president. “The problem started during the late President Yar’Adua regime. Goodluck only inherited the problem. We have no problem with Goodluck. But his Ijaw people around him are deceiving him”.
