These South South people lack wisdom, after killing innocent people, most likely their own brother, they have just make life difficult for innocent family that have nothing to do with what is happening at the top.

No reasonable connection with what happened in south African to kill these people.

So what has changed now after killing these people ?

Mization: MEND Resumes Hostilities, Kills 13 Policemen In Bayelsa

By Emmanuel Uzodinma on April 7, 2013

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, on Friday night made real its threat of resuming hostilities by killing 13 policemen in reaction to the sentencing of its leader, Henry Okah by a South African Court.

Okah was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment by a South African court over the October 1, 2010 bombing.

Although, it was still unclear the major reason behind the brutality in Bayelsa, it was gathered that heavily armed militants killed the twelve policemen along the waterways of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.

Sources put the death toll at 13 while others said 12.

The policemen drawn from the security pool of the Bayelsa State Government House and the state Police Command were on a special duty to Azuzuama in Southern Ijaw local government area where an aide to the state Governor, Mr Kile Selky Torughedi, was burying his mother, when they were ambushed.

Torughedi was recently appointed a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Henry Seriake Dickson on Marine Waterways Security, as part of the State government’s efforts to curb the spate of pirate attacks in the riverine area of the state.

It was learnt that 15 policemen were in the boat providing escort to dignitaries attending the burial when their boat suddenly developed a fault and while they were trying to fix it, a speedboat conveying some armed men opened fire at them killing 13 of them on the spot while the other two jumped into the river.

Lesson 101: Never negotiate with terrorists and capital offenders. Crush them! Amnesty is useless.

Well, negotiating and appeasing terrorists and capital offenders are the hallmark of a dying nation. Byzantine paid money to the forces that threatened their nation. What did they get in return? They were humiliated and severely crushed by the Ottomans. History is replaying itself again. Anyone who thinks that appeasing terrorists will dissuade them from their goal needs to have his head examined.

splitting up nigeria will only lead to another "korean war" between north nigeria and south nigeria, making history to repeat itself. The only way out is a change of govt priorities and a full blow brutal military crackdown!

Roger that, my brother. This amnesty thing has never sat well with me. its analagus to those who pay someone that has a sex picture or video of them and threatens to post it on the internet. They just soak money from you...you pay the first time, and for a short while, they don't post the pic or video, and then of course another threat will come....... amnesty is a temporary fix, i really dot know why or how people in power in Nigeria make decisions .... well... all I can do is pray for my beloved country.

I heard the report on BBC and i didnt get the begging to know where he was reporting from...but his accent was so distinct that I knew it would be west africa... wished it wasnt Naija, but coming to NL... its another sad day pour mon country... may God help us all

nigeria is heading into distingeration.amnesty for bokoharam would increase insecurity. gej has to do something.i think north would be happy about the development.

eldoradoxx: Hahahahahaha. You are obviously a kid going by your statement. Oil in Ondo? How many barrels? Oil in Lagos and Ogun? Let's begin the exploration boy! What are we waiting for ? There is no place you can find oil in commercial quantity like under the soil of Niger Delta. Recently two wells were discovered in my community (mind you MOU has been signed by the community and the oil companies). The quantity in the two wells were describes to be like a river and would be drilled for over 50 years each. But that's not my worry. Rather than Sw seeking to rely on oil like ND, let them go back to the days of cocoa. Beverages and other cocoa products are still worth billions of dollar in international market. We mustnt all depend on oil.

LOL, the oil in Ondo alone is more than what the whole SE is producing.
You can check with the DPR if you doubt.
Re: MEND Kills 13 Policemen In Bayelsa by Litmus: 4:43pm On Apr 07, 2013
Away from politics, on a personal level, if one of those policemen were my brother, sooner or later, Okah would die by my action. If i couldn't do it myself i''d pay someone to have him killed. You dont mock around with peoples lives i don't care what crap you think you have with government.

poor policemen/women

who gives the damn about oil that SE produces. What isd relevant here is that other regions should wake up and stop depending on the oil from ND.

For the wicked ones asking for amnesty to be granted to boko haram, this is enough evidence to show that granting amnesty is an excercise in futility. The Niger Delta militants still have all their arms and only succeeded in collecting huge sums of money from the FG which they have used to procure more deadly arms. That being said, it looks like the solution to all these problems is a peaceful disintegration of Nigeria. If there was no Nigeria there would have been no MEND in the first place, there wouldn't have been independence day bombing and Okah wouldn't be in a South African prison now.

If there's no Nigeria, boko haram could better still ask the sultan, Turai & Buhari to grant them amnesty from their personal accounts, certainly not from the oil revenue. Every region should then be free to create their own laws and utilize their natural resources. The boko haram north could then implement strict sharia just like in Pakistan where anyone that converts to Christianity faces execution.

Our leaders are our greatest problem because they refuse to see the truth because of their greed. Call a sovereign national conference they say 'No.' Call for the break up of Nigeria they say 'No.' The fact is that we all have to sit down ad talk in this country. We could either disintegrate or go regional so that every region can develop at their own pace.

I condemn in strong terms the killing of Nigerian policemen going about their lawful duties. However, this is one of the major differences btwn MEND & boko haram. At least armed policemen are not Christians worshiping God inside a church. They are not innocent women and children inside a luxury bus, they are not innocent hunters selling bush meat at Bornu, they are not innocent teachers and professors. Once more I totally condemn the killing of Nigerian policemen.

The country is tottering @ the edge of a precipice and our politicians are gallivanting from one reconciliation meeting to another merger committee all for the sake of extending their influence. Not once thinking about the well-being of the nation they so shamelessly loot and molest.

Boko boys in the North,MEND in the South-south.I dont pray for MASSOB to start o because they'll have good reason to.

A group of leaders that can't look terrorism in the face and call it by it's proper name have no business in Govt.

Atimes i wonder if Democracy is meant to be practiced by every country particularly black africans. We all know next to nothing about the rights of a citizen in a true democracy.

Its sad...so so sad cry cry

Actually, oil is a curse! Have you heard of Dutch disease before? (Resource curse!). Google it!

It is an economically proven condition, of places with natural resources ending up more badly than places without resources, that is exactly the problem with Nigeria.

@post.
Maybe its time to bring OBJ back to squash all these irritant militants and extremists!
