Hmmm Funmi an heroine, an amazon and a great one ,all these and more she was, no word best describes the kind of woman you were. Another dream shattered, another hope lost, To your family a daughter and sister is gone To some a friend To your neighbour a neigbour To your spouse a sister, a friend, a comforter, a would be wife and mother is gone... all this and more you were to the world. The Remote cause of this great loss among many of its like is the government, had her ailment been diagnosed earlier given world class and affordable medical facilities as we have in the developed states neccessary and sufficient steps would have been taken to save us this unquantifyable loss, But we find ouselves in a society were only the haves and political leaders have access to such within and outside the geographical boundary of the country. But when the state itself is diseased what can be said of the medical welfare of her people. I blackslap funmi's gutso and her unequalled desire for a win in the gladiatorial battle she fought may peace find and never desert her soul in the world beyond. This serves as a wake up call for the Nigerian goverment in the health sector , how many hopes, dreams and life will have to be lost, shattered and lost before they take steps to revamp the health sector and provide world class facilities in various health centres across the country and or a health insurance scheme like we have in the developed world ? I presume the answer is in thousand of centuries to come beause the Ruler can easily be flown abroad for minor headache while the Ruled die of malaria every hour........... RIP FUNMI LAWAL A concerned citizen of The of Kalakuta Republic. |
