@OP, i may not be frequent on this thread but i have these to say:

Write your vision and make it plain. Know your career path and follow the neccessary requirements.

My advise to you: now you have Bsc. Econs, know your career path, have relevant work experience, have an IT knowledge of professional software being used in your chosen profession (peach tree as case maybe), professional certification(ICAN, ACCA etc) and master degree(Msc/MBA).

NB: After each educational achievement, get a professional certification.

@op if u arent working and age is on ur side pls go for ur masters now that u can easily. if u are working or intend to work any time soon then go for professional courses. cos work changes alot of plan. most times your employer determines ur career path except uve got someone who feeds u. i dont know if u get the gist.

nnafather: I'm an Economist too; just concluded my MBA, heading for Msc(Economics) after chartering in a professional body (name withheld)which is on now. This is because of the nature of my Job...You know the nature of your career. Plan it around it. If you are interested in lecturing, proceed for your Masters.

It is not only lecturing that a Master's degree is good for.

Multinational financial institutions (World Bank and others) mostly require higher degrees.

A higher degree will also be of advantage in some federal parastatals like the CBN and others alike.

@OP, broaden your horizon and make an informed decision.
