The federal government has restated its plan to achieve 10,000 Megawatts of electricity by the end of the year.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Power, Mr Godknows Igali told journalists in Abuja that the country has returned to more than 4,000 MW after dropping by 1,000 a week ago.

Mr Igali assured Nigerians that the country will strive to achieve 10,000MW by the end of the year when the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) projects are completed.

The ministry official also claimed that power supply has improved as he assured Nigerians of better days ahead.

He affirmed that Nigerians now enjoy an average of 16 hours steady electricity supply without interruption.

He described this as a major leap from the past, adding that with the on-going overhaul of the power sector, the current generation rate will soar and ultimately lead to uninterrupted power supply.

Another major complaint was the issue of hidden charges paid by Nigerians especially those who use the prepaid meters.

It is only a fool that will wait and expect it is fufilled. What about the refineries that FG promised to refubish to work upto 90% capacity by Sep last year.they even lied that the engineers have started workin on it.
They fool some of the people all of the time but they can not fool all of the people all of the time.

We should remember that Nigeria derives most of her incomes from the sales of petroleum products. Fixing our electricity will definitely reduce the rate of generator usage thereby reducing our consumption of petroleum products.

I therefore do not see the federal government fixing electricity anytime soon.
