A teacher brings up a child from the cradle stage up to adulthood in terms of impartation of knowledge which also includes :moral and spiritual education..ironically,at the end of the day..that toddler that was nutured educationally by the teacher will now become somebody while the teacher will still be living in penury..why is it so,is it because the profession is cursed.,i still hear people say that "teachers reward is in heaven",this is a derisive mockery,no wonder, no youth wants to be a teacher..the society looks at teachers with disdain and mockery.in other climes, teachers are well rewarded and respected because they know that it is only through education that any economy can have the much needed progress..
