A supermarket chain has been forced to clear its shelves of ground nuts – because they contain nuts!! Booths has withdrawn its Whole Hearted Roasted Ground Nuts, because the label does not specifically warn of the presence of nuts.  The Food Standards Agency has issued an Allergy Alert as the nuts could pose a health risk to people allergic to peanuts. The FSA said: “Customers with an allergy to peanuts are advised not to eat this product but to return it to the nearest EH Booths store for a full refund.”The product being withdrawn is Booths Whole Hearted Roasted Ground Nuts, 350g with best before: 12 July 2013. |
